Yessss, another Michigan gal! (I don't live there anymore, but grew up in a suburb of Detroit and am a Michigander at heart.)

Welcome. Do you like Harry Potter?

Pole dancing classes! YAY!!! I'm an addict, too. Amazing stuff, and so much fun!

Welcome. Now I definitely need to go to sleep, because I was thinking TK was being wonky because your post had nothing to do with a job interview *comprehension fail*

Maybe I'm a dork, but thanks for the welcome!

Doh! I forgot that was standard as well. I've never read the books or watched the movies. Unfortunately I don't have much time for recreational reading as I'm working and going to school, but I did enjoy the Twilight series over winter break. I am not a Twilight freak (no disrespect intended), and I welcome recommendations, so if HP is awesome I will add it to my list!

    Hi!

    I like your snark level.

I also really want to try pole dancing! I'm in ballet now, but I don't think I'll ever be able to go very far with it. Age 22 is not the time to take up ballet, so I want to find something else I might be able to enjoy. What do they teach you in beginner pole dancing classes? I assume there are key moves and strategies.

Also, do you have pictures of your kitties?

Ok, my baby kitty (her mama taught her that!).

I wouldn't compare Twilight and HP since I haven't read HP. But if that's intended for teenagers, I'll tell you I think there were some hot undertones in Twilight, and I had a few grown up thoughts about Edward Cullen!

Pole dancing: I tried to learn how to belly dance, it's hard! After 3 years maybe I'm ok, but I wouldn't do it in public. Pole dance=I have to rely on my stamina and strength, and these are things I have more control over. I think grace and skill would come with practice, but I feel WAY more confident that this is something that (WITH PRACTICE) I could do well! And it's a great workout!

Exactly. Which is why, when somebody says, "I don't like Harry Potter but I do love Twilight," all I hear is "I don't like good books".

I know that's not what you said, OP. I'm not directing that at you; it's just a general sentiment. I really need to find a way to let go of my Twilight hatred.

Oh boy, the centered thing is silly, maybe that's a noob thing? Grrr....

As for the nerdy question, I'm not sure! I like things a certain way, I've gone to school for most of my life, but I can't quote great random facts about atoms or microbes or any of that stuff. Um, I wear white socks with my black gym shoes, and while new socks ARE on my list, does THAT make me nerdy?? And if I were, it wouldn't hurt my feelings...

It's not centered. It's a weird glitch where your posts look centered TO YOU but to everyone else, they look normal. Just try to ignore it!

Pole dancing is an AWESOME workout, and a lot of fun! I come home feeling sexy and flirty and it gives you abs quick.

I like that you have a Daisy... I have a Daffodil. I love naming pets after flowers!

Hahaha... I have a picture of me posing on a pole at a bar. My friends and I went out with my parents, and there was a stripper pole in the middle of the dance floor. I have this horrified look in the picture because my parents are standing like 5 feet away watching me pose on a stripper pole. I would never make a good stripper.

    Oh well, welcome!

Elle, I feel the same way about Twilight and the Sookie Stackhouse books (which is what the tv show True Blood is based on). Especially because Twihards try to claim it's a ripoff of Twilight. Newsflash: the first Sookie Stackhouse book was published in 2001; the first Twilight book was published in 2005. True Blood premiered on TV in September 2008. The first Twilight movie was in theaters in November 2008.

Also, 9 (and counting) Sookie books /> 4 Twilight books

    God, I hate Twilight.

The only vampire books I've enjoyed are Christopher Moore's, and they're very different from what you'd expect a book about vampires to be. If you haven't heard of Christopher Moore before, then you're welcome in advance.

I'm glad somebody else shares my hatred. Can I just PM you to vent so I can spare all the girls on here who actually like those books? I'm starting to feel like all I ever talk about is my love for Harry and my loathing of Bella.

I've heard of Christopher Moore's books, but never met anyone who ever read them. I started reading the Sookie books years and years ago. I leant them from a friend, returned them, and missed reading them. They're so good and well written, and detailed and rich and the sex scenes are epic. I managed to find the first 6 books at a yard sale a few months ago and spent only $12 and have been rereading them voraciously.

Yes, yes! Vent all you want! I'll probably vent back! =D

....Also my nickname IRL is Bella and it makes me angry that Twilight ruined it for me =(
