AW: WRness/DIY - PIP

FI and I dedicated this weekend to doing wedding stuff.  Two items were completed:  the invites and the bouquets (they took forever).

Pictures:

They fold up into the envelope:

And the bouquets!!  I love how these turned out.  What do you think?

This is mine:

Bridesmaids:

I wish I had more to AW, but these two projects took quite a bit more time than I originally thought.  I will be updating the planning bio with some other stuff today (hopefully).

P.S.  This was the inspiration for the bouquets:

Edited: I forgot to block out the date in one of the invite photos.

Great job!! I'll add my WRness/DIY in here, too (not to threadjack, but just to cut down on the WR threads Laughing)

I worked on our cardbox this weekend, which is a planter that looks like a wine barrel. It will be painted white. I cut and hemmed the fabric for it and love how it turned out! People will drop their cards in the slit on the top.

This will be the sign (that we cut out and place next to it)

ETA: Oh, and this is what my BMs bouquets will look like. A little different than originally planned, but they were SO easy to make! They will be white carnations with navy beads.

Tiger, I like your planter!  Cute idea.  We are just using a regular card box.

Oh!  I like the bouquets.  What happened to the beaded ones?  Did they not work out?

How's your bouquet coming?  I cannot wait to see that!

    Love the brooch bouquet.

Could you still use the fabric on these bouquets?

SKP, those bouquets are INSANE! I love them! When I get married, can I pay you to make some for me?! And by pay, I mean, bake you cupcakes. (JK I would totally pay you with real money).

Haha.  You could totally do them yourself.  They're not difficult, they just take a long time.

    Thanks, ladies!

BSide - Here is a tutorial for the flowers:

    http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-ideas/diy-gorgeous-chiffon-and-tulle-flowers/5

I should have made a video or taken more pictures while I was making them.

Basically, I cut out a TON of "flower petals" from various types of fabric.  Fabric that can kind of keep its shape is best.  After I had sewn the flowers, I used this cable (found in the garden center at Home Depot).

I cut it to my desired length, bent the tip with some pliers, and hot glued the wire between the flower and a piece of square felt.

After the flowers were all stemmed, I wrapped them with thin wire and cut the stems shorter.  Then I cut out a circle of lace, made a small x in the center, and put the stems through it.  I did this to cover up the base so you couldn't see the wire.  Then, I hot glued portions of the lace to the underside of the flowers to make it stay.  Then I wrapped the stems in ribbon.  Done!

P.S.  The process of cutting the wires and attaching the flowers to complete the bouquets yesterday took me about 8 hours.  I worked in portions to cut out the petals and would sew them together while watching TV.

I just saw this post for some reason.

I already did, they're just in flowers you can't see.  I can take some more up close pictures.
