Fun Stuff on the Radio

This morning I heard that: 

Hazel McCallion is 90 years old today. She is the oldest mayor in Canada, mayor of Mississauga (part of the greater Toronto area and the 6th largest city in Canada), and has been mayor since 1978. She won easily in 2010 and didn't even need to conduct a campaign. They were saying that she used to be a professional hockey player and still carries skates and a stick with her in her car in case she finds an opportunity to play.

Coolest lady ever, I hope I'm half as active when I'm that age.

What interesting thing did you hear on the radio this morning?

Ahhh! I heard about her this morning on the drive in, as well!  CBC FTW.

I heard a lot about the Canada Games.  Games are here for the next two weeks so it's all about them.

Oh Hazel McCallion. I giggle almost every time I hear about the woman - she's just ancient!

I just heard music on the radio this morning. Hopefully the drive to my afternoon meeting will result in some exciting tidbits of info. It's about 20 mins both ways, so there is potential.

This morning my radio was just talking about awards and stuff. They made fun of Lady Antebelum for stealing the beat from another song and saying they shouldn't have gotten 5 awards. Not exciting at all.

Your mayor lady sounds like a really neat person. I hope to be like that when I'm old.

Hazel, that is fantastic. I want to be like that when I'm 90, too.

My morning commute is so short that I hardly get a chance to hear much on the radio on the way in. I missed the Grammys--we were at BF's parents' for dinner. Anything good happen?

My radio station was just talking about situations where it's rude to be talking or texting on your cell phone...bathroom, dinner with friends, etc. Not nearly as interesting as yours!!!
