Not Engaged Yet

Do you know what takes forever?

Registering!  Good Lord we were there for 3 hours, 3 HOURS!  We didn't finish....  We still have to go back next week to finish!  But we had a good time and picked some cute stuff.   Look at the beautiful china we picked out.  I love it though I doubt we will get it and we really don't need it but it was fun picking it out!

Anyways I am just working this fine Saturday morning.  What are you all up too?

Today, I am tackling my to-do list!  I have already cleaned out the garden and planted garlic, cleaned the catbox, and started laundry...  and tried (and failed) to get free compost. They were out the time we showed up with the truck.

Now, onto more cleaning!  At some point, I"ll move from cleaning house to doing homework.  Oh, joy!

We still haven't registered.  I'm looking forward to it, though.

    Love that china set.

Whoot!  Go becuning!  You can do it.  You are my inspiration today.  I have to study for my German test, finish my French oral project, put together a schedule for tomorrow (venue hunting), AND work.  And today is the only day I have to do homework, I shouldn't have procrastinated yesterday.
Shoes- I think it will be easier for you guys as you already have stuff, I have almost nothing so I need to buy everything!
Elle- It was a lot of fun.  FI got quite cute while we were doing it, which included long kisses in the aisle :)  It gets a little overwhelming though.

Shoes and Elle what are you doing today?

I don't have any plans today except for watching LSU beat Auburn this afternoon.  FI is out of town so I have the place to myself.

There's something else I'm thinking about doing today, and I need to be talked out of it, but I'm not sure I want to be talked out of it, if that makes sense.

Haha. It's really not that big of a deal. I'm thinking about going to a local bridal shop (even though I have a dress already). I just found out that they have a dress I never got to try on and just can't get out of my head. Silly, right?

FI just got out of work.  So we're driving down to his hometown.  We're going to register at Crate & Barrel and Macy's.  We've already started to register at BBB.

Then tonight we're going to have dinner with his family.  We'll be staying there tonight and then returning to the city sometime late tomorrow.

I am being so incredibly lazy today and I don't give a crap. FI bought me breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, we browsed Party City for costume stuff (I bought gloves for my costume but I am going to return them because they are too big) and now I'm being lazy on the couch watching reruns of "Four Weddings" on demand.

I think the most productive thing I have done all day is clean the rabbit's litter box, and start my planning bio.

That china is b-e-a-utiful! The blue is so unique, I don't think I've ever seen china with bold colors like that =) I hope you get it!

Ravenray:  I will merrily provide inspiration.

My update includes the following things crossed off the list:

Cleaning kitchen, sweeping the basement, main floor, and front porch, vaccuuming the main floor, stairs, and upstairs/bedroom, cleaning off the dining room table, still working on laundry... and just finished grooming my dog.  Believe me, that last one is a feat every time. She's so furry!

Now... should I make cookies or clean the bathroom upstairs?  (Making cookies can be on a to-do list, right?)

@Elle:  I definitely want pics when you get back! :)

We registered about a month ago at BB&B, Williams Sonoma, and Pottery Barn.  FI isn't really a shopper, so I had to get it all done with him in one day!

Today we took the dogs for a walk in the state park for an hour and a half and then went to "Petapalooza," which was lame.

Now we are going to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening watching football.

You do need china.  China is a priceless heirloom.  You will pass it down to your grandchildren who will (hopefully) pass it down to theirs.  How awesome would it be for your great-great-grandchildren to see the type of china that was "in" when you got married?  I can't wait to do my china registry!

No one "NEEDS" china.  My FI and I didn't register for it because we knew we would never use it.  We would rather register for items that we would use regularly.

Also, your grandchildren will most likely only be interested in your china if you choose a classic, timeless pattern.  The china my grandmother has is horrible and I wouldn't use it.

So, instead of giving my guests an option to purchase a china place setting that costs $100+ each, I would rather have nice sets of knives, sheets, towels, etc. that will be much more appreciated.

registering for your baby shower when you're 8 months pregnant takes FOREVER... I remember we went to Babies R Us and it seriously took about 4 hours... mostly because I had to keep stopping to put my feet up... and I had taken my mom and sister with me and they kept going back and forth about things... and I didn't know if I was having a boy or girl (I chose to wait)... so I can only imagine what it will be like when I'm engaged and registering for the wedding! 0.o
