Weekend WR checks

This weekend brought a LOT of wedding checkmarks!

On Friday, I found a shuttle service that is reasonably priced and included everything (driver gratuity, tax, etc), so we're ready to put that deposit down. 

On Saturday, we did our cake tasting and ended up designing our whole cake! We sent the deposit in today. Here are the specs - 4 square tiers, slightly offset. Alternating designs of damask and quilted. Around the bottom of each tier will be a cornflower blue ribbon with a small navy blue ribbon over it. Here's a similar one but ours will be less 'funhouse' looking:

It will be alternating layers of White Almond Infusion and Red Velvet.

I also worked on the centerpieces. Here's the before shot of the bottles:

And here's the after:

I think they will look great once the flowers are in them, and maybe some confetti around them (they'll be on mirrored tiles with votives.

Finally, I worked on my bouquet. It doesn't look great in this picture, but I think once I finish out the bottom and Peek gets it all put together, it will be perfectly imperfect.

Whew, that was an exhausting weekend... and now FI might have the flu. Ack.

I love the whole uneven layered cake thing. It's sounds like it will be gorgeous! I love checking stuff off of that list! Sounds like you've got a good chunk of it done! : )

Have you guys talked about if you're going to smash cake in each other's face? lol

<div>I have explained to FI that if there is any smashing of cake in my face, there will be an annulment faster than he can say 'Sorry!' It literally makes me ill to think of having cake smeared on my face (or anything else, for that matter)... so nope, it will be a very tame and sweet placing of cake in each others' mouths :)</div>

Haha, very understandable. I told FI that he can do a little smudging, but if he gets cake up my nose, in my eye, or on my dress, he's gonna be sorry, lol.

Everything looks gorgeous! I love the bouqet. I have taken mine apart like 4 times. I think I finally have it completed.

How did you do yours?

I ended up using a foam ball, covered in fabric, and then wiring and hot glueing the brooches to the foam/fabric.
