Sunday Morning!

Good morning!

How has your weekend been? What's going on today?

Last night, BF and I went to dinner with my family and then Red Boxed it up the rest of the night after the Thunder game. Low key and I loved it.

Here's a question... Have you noticed a change your SO's personality from the time you first started dating?

My Bf has totally settled down. I've never been a partier/clubber but since he is in the construction industry and was a college football player, drinking used to be his big thing. When we first started dating, he would go out a lot with his friends a lot and I would go do something with my girls, or occasionally go with him. Now, he has little desire for that lifestyle. He would much rather go to dinner with friends and then do something lowkey like we did last night.

Re: Sunday Morning!

  • My weekend has been okay. Studly is off at the lake without me because I (should be) am working from home to hit all my hours this weekend. I don't want to be doing this. I did play boardgames with friends last night, and that was fun! :)

I don't know that I've noticed much of a personality change. One of the things I really liked about studly was that he was so even-keel and well situated. He is who he is, and he's comfortable with himself. We've grown together and worked out some kinks, but he's still the same calm yet goofy guy that I know and love. It helps that we started dating a bit when we were older and more established. At 28-32, I'd sure as heck hope he wouldn't have huge personality changes!
  • Good morning! My bachelorette party was last night, so I'm a little hung over. Not too bad, though. Today FI and I are going up to lake house we rented for the week. I'm so excited!!!
  • I wanna go to a lake house! I don't want to work. Stupid working.
  • Lakes are better than work.
  • Take me to the lake house (and away from wedding invite hell).  Pretty please?
  • This summer... with my camper, I will do homework at the lake.  And scuba dive.

Right now... at least I have a cat on my lap while I'm trying (failing) to work. I think I'm grumpy because I want more time off.
  • Meg, we have plenty of extra space...
  • So Meg can go?  *cry*

  • I got back home last night, and it was amazing to sleep in my own bed. Today bf and I have errands to run, some laundry to do, and getting ready to go back to work tomorrow. I already want to be back in PA lol.
  • This weekend has been really nice overall, the exception being the Devils lost game 2 last night and I cried : We are on our way to Philly for the Phillies game right now then checking out the hotel we're most likely booking for the wedding afterwards. Baseball bores the shiiit out of me. I'm only going for the sun the crab fries. Elle How was your bparty?!

Did you have a nice week with your family? I hope you come back soon!

  • I've been working all weekend, unfortunately. Today I did a quick workout and I'm about to go do some yard work. Tonight is my last shift at work before a week off, we're likely driving to Winnipeg for a little vacation!

My weekend's been pretty good, just hanging out with FI and BFF.  I didn't get put on the schedule at work this past week (frustrating, long story) so I've been cooking a lot, which has been pretty fun.

There are some ways FI's changed, I guess, but I don't think they're very big.  One of the things that attracted me to him was that he was stable and responsible.  He was working throughout college (which isn't that common here; there are a lot of people who are here because their parents are rich and can afford to pay for 100% of it), and he wasn't the new-girlfriend-every-week type, which is also pretty common here.  He couldn't get that much more stable.

ETA: And he had an actual plan for what he was going to do with himself after college.  SO many people here don't.  And it's not the "I really love this, so even though I don't know what to do with it I'm going to get my degree in it, and I'll start looking for jobs senior year" kind of not having a plan, it's the "I really wanna play football in college, but I have to have a major, so I'll major in general music with a minor in photography" kind.
  • Just back back from a run with the pooch . . . kinda forgot we actually live right by the lake.  So um, I guess I'm at a lake house already?  Easy to forget when I'm stuck in invite hell.
  • My week end was low key, nothing much, saw Battleship though, it was really good,
Daisypath Friendship tickers PitaPata Cat tickers
  • My weekend has been good.  Last night was the concert and it was amazing.  I was beyond excited about and am still in awe of it all.

I hope you had fun at the bparty elle.

I didn't not sleep well at all last night BF was up most of the night coughing and is still coughing from last week.  Why are boys so stubborn and refuse to go to the doctors?  I am trying to get him to go soon.  Then I think we are looking at storage centers for when we merge.  We'll be home to watch Game of Thrones.

Danser - did you finish painting your bathroom (again)? How did the new color turn out?

Elle - how was your party?

OP - my BF hasn't changed at all. He's always been very laid-back, preferring to watch movies or play video games over going out. I think he's a little more social now, but that's because I drag him to things. He IS much better about calling his parents and siblings to catch up. Since he moved here from NM, I kind of nagged him about the importance of calling since he doesn't see them every other weekend anymore.

I worked yesterday, and then I spent last night writing and exercising. I burned an all-time high of 1483 calories, so I felt like a beast. Then I slept 10 hours. :-D BF and I are trying to decide where to eat. I'm starving.
  • Yes eirwyn we reapinted on Friday night, thanks for asking. The color is almost white with a yellow tint it's called buttermilk. It looks so much better.

Oh! I painted my kitchen that color a couple years ago. I called it "buttercream", but it sounds about the same.
  • Cunning: of course you can come, too! rdr and Eirwyn: the party was a lot of fun. I really felt special and loved. And drunk. There were lots of shots. It was fun though.

I am recovering from my hangover as well. Boo.

Meg, why invite Hell? Are you still struggling to find one that works?

My weekend was pretty good. I went into work on Friday and got a few things done around the apartment. I got a new couch!! Yesterday was Else's bachelorette, which was a ton of fun and I'm really glad I went. I'm about to head out for our pool party tonight, which is going to be a blast.

I work up until Wednesday and then Buggle comes in and then Elle gets married! I'm excited about this week.

Well, I just got back from a bridal show. It kinda sucked, since I am still a little sick. I didn't really learn too much, but I did meet a pretty awesome DJ who really suits my personality! I might splurge a little to get him, tbh. He had me wanting to dance right there - in front of everyone! (Heck, he even mixed COUNTRY and Black Eyed Peas and it sounded GOOD).

I think I found my venue too, going to go look at it in person this week. Sadly, some of the more unique locations were booked for the weekends - through NEXT October. Oh well!
Once I get my venue booked, I am probably going to start getting the majority of my planning out of the way, so when school starts up again I won't really have much to work on. Over Christmas break I will probably work on STDs, and over SB send out the final invites. Totally going to try and plan my wedding around my vacation times.

Can't wait to get the date locked in for the wedding... Looking like July 20, 2013 is gonna be our new Anniversary!

P.S. I am totally jealous of you ladies with hangovers! I'm taking Valium at night (I have a jaw joint infection that is uber mean) so no drinkie drinkie! I'm glad your B-party was fun Elle! Totally sucks that the World Theatre is booked up for all of my workable dates. QQ.

Edit: I completely forgot the reason I was going to post:
Yes, my FI's personality has changed some since we started dating. He's become a lot more mature, and his goals in life have shifted from wanting to be a professional gamer (he still wins tournaments for money though!) to more long-term financial goals and figuring ways to get there. He's also more romantic. When we first started dating he had the romance of a rock - now I get flowers, and love notes, and *gasp* lunch at work! I sure did find myself one heck of a man!

I think I've changed too. I was 19 when I started dating FI and now that I am heading towards 25 I really view life differently. When they say you change in your early 20s they weren't kidding, and I think a lot of my change is thanks to FI. I don't stress over as much anymore and my sense of humor has really blossomed (though now I should probably reign it in a bit...).
