Healing stones? Believer or no?

Currently, I have a healing stone (sodalite) that I wear on a necklace a good deal of the week. It's a stone known for writers and balancing out the head and the heart. I guess I believe in it. I find myself a bit calmer, more collected especially with my thoughts. Of course, this is all mental and all about whether you believe or not. Have you ever considered getting a stone, even a small one, to help balance you out? If you don't believe in healing stones, do you have anything else that you kind of use in its place?

Re: Healing stones? Believer or no?

  • I've never thought about using a healing stone. I believe they could work though. When I feel out of balance I use meditation. I've been feeling really out of balance lately though. I'm thinking about trying to find a martial arts class to join. I used to do martial arts when I was younger and it really helped me center myself and it helped me release any anger I was holding onto.

  • I probably wouldn't use one.  I never had any interest. I guess it would depend what kinds there were available too.  That might tempt me to check one out.  I wouldn't seek one out though.

<div>There are many different ones and each are supposed to be connected to a different part of your body. There's one for almost everything.</div>
  • I've never considered it. I use physical activity to maintain balance in my life.

I find "alternative" healing methods really interesting though. Things like reiki, for example. I don't necessarily "believe" in that kind of stuff, but I can't discount it either, because so many people find relief through it.

  • I've never thought about such a thing. If it makes you feel better, that's great.
  • NMS at all. If that's your thing, then great, but I've never understood how a rock can have healing properties.

And you forgot to add a "clicky, clicky, I like clicky" option. :(

  • I believe in science. If you believe the stone reminds you to focus your thoughts and be more happy and awesome, then yay for you. I use the trees as my reminder.
  • I guess I was never really interested, though I think sodalite could make some really pretty jewelry (I did some google searches) and if I ever found a pretty necklace I might wear it. Not because it might or might not have healing properties, but because I find it pretty. I would be interested to see if  I found a change though.

Oh and I guess I wore them as bracelets when younger. I found a picture of a bracelet and it sparked an old memory of middle school. You could buy "calming" beads, "creative" beads, "love" beads (not that kind of "love" beads...) and so on. I don't remember having any change, but they were pretty.

Me too. I remember girls acting like you were "like so totally not cool" if you didn't have one of these. I actually want to dig through my old jewelry box (if I can find it in the attic) and see if I can find these. I had at least 10.
