My so is talking about...

Insurance for my ring...yay. We picked out the setting, we picked out the diamond which isnt covered where we got it. So the jewler suggested a seperate policy either under his home owners or just a stand alone for the best coverage. I think it's sweet he wants to protect our investment. I say ours, because eventually it will be mine and his because he bought it :-)

My ring was included in our renter's insurance policy. We didn't even need anything extra. That's pretty cool.

hmm that is cool, yeah i guess it doesnt matter which policy he puts in under just as long as its fully covered etc.

I called my insurance agent and had it included to my home owners insurance, but it didn't change the price of my insurance. It is just listed as an asset.

I don't even have insurance on mine yet.

I'm not sure we plan on getting it.

All you ladies the do not have insurance for your ring I ask why not? Working for an insurance company I see every day how many times a ring can be lost, stolen, damaged, misplaced ect ect. It is kinda crazy to put so much money down and not have a plan to protect it.

I just went through this with my insurance company. Currently mine is under my house insurance, so there is a deductible and it is only covered if it has things that would happen to the house. I was told that inorder to cover everything and not have a deductible that I'd need an additional policy.

Very smart, you definitely want to protect that investment! We went through Jewelers Mutual for my ring. I've been happy with them and would recommend them.

We didn't make a conscious decision not to get it.  We just haven't done it yet and aren't in any particular hurry to do so, if that makes sense.

My ring wasn't particularly expensive.  I mean, it was enough, but it wasn't the price of a car.  If it were to get lost or stolen, we could replace it without feeling any significant financial strain.

That's exciting! Given that I don't have a ring, it's not insured. When I do have one, it'll probably be insured somehow, but I'm not too worried about it at this point.
