Comfort Foods

A bajillion years ago, someone posted a fun fact on the board about why comfort foods were called comfort foods ... it had something to do with the carbohydrates releasing endorphins? I honestly can't remember who posted it and what the actual fact was, and I've been driving myself nuts going back to old threads trying to find it. Does anyone else remember?

Sorry Bside, I don't remember that one.

My friend who has a 15 month old has decided that comfort food means giving her son a cookie or other type of food when he is upset. Since she doesn't want him to associate food with emotional comfort, she's trying to avoid that association. I found that pretty interesting.

I don't remember that, either, but I know my comfort foods are very carb-laden. I love carbs and would die on a low-carb diet.
