Fun reception ideas for families that don't speak each other's language. Literally.

My family is American while my fiance's family is Polish. The wedding is being held in a small city in Poland, and I want everyone to enjoy themselves without feeling like there's a major loss in translation. So my question is, what are some fun receptions idea that are universal and don't need to much communication?

  • Perhaps you can have different phrases in English and Polish spread out onto the tables at the reception.  They can say "Welcome to the Family", "The Bride and Groom look so happy together", etc.  That way, the different languages could speak to each other.  Maybe also buy the little English to Polish books.

And as Avion22 mentioned, booze, its universal!
  • I guess it really is that simple :) Thank you, everyone!
