The Dress! (Now with pictures! :D)

So, I promised once I got the pictures uploaded from my mom's phone that I would post them for you girls! You'll have to forgive my appearance, this was after 4 hours in this store and I was ready to get out of that dress. It was also hotter than blazes, so I just threw my hair up (which, I assume I'll be wearing it up for the big day, anyway, so I figured it wouldn't hurt).

Also, the second gown I tried on had a lot of intricate lacing and beading around the neckline (which I was a bit leary of) that caused my skin to turn a bright red (thus the reason I can't wear lace tops or bras), so I'm still a bit splotchy in the neckline photo.

There's plenty of altering that needs to be done. The halter straps are much too long (apparently I'm big enough to fit into a 4, just not tall enough, lol), though I haven't decided if I'm going to keep them or make it into a strapless (or some kind of other strap). They're also going to fill out the bust a little bit.

  • Pretty! I can see in the background of the photo one of the little kids you were talking about. That would have pissed me off. After all that you dealt with there,I would have walked out. I'm glad you were able to perservere and find a great dress for you!

<div>Sad thing is, a ton of people had already left by the time this picture was taken. That little girl, however, is the daughter of my consultant's "other bride". She's the one that was scribbling in a catalog with pens on my pedestal, so my consultant had me move one pedestal over because her parents wouldn't watch her. (That's her dad in the grey shirt... never once bothered to make her come sit down with him and behave.)</div>

  • Haha, beanbot, that probably would have gotten the parents' attention, lol.

Hulu: You are absolutely gorgeous! : ) I would recommend a sweetheart neckline, but I'm pretty partial to that since that's what mine will be, lol. I love the dress though. Very pretty! And you are Queen Patience for dealing with all of that and still managing to smile! I'm so happy for you that you found your dress! Are you doing anything in your hair? Veil? Flowers? Tiara?

  • Do you think the dress would be too heavy to alter into a strapless?

  • Aww, thanks, guys. :)

elannis- I LOVE sweetheart necklines. The very first dress I tried on was a sweetheart, and I adored it. I'll just have to get with the alterations lady when it comes in, see what my different options are.

lunar- I really don't think so. While I was wearing it, the straps were hardly doing any work. They were several inches too long, so they just clipped it just enough to keep it from looking loose. It was barely laying against my neck. The fabric was also rather light, much lighter than the dress I tried on just previous to it.
  • Very pretty! You weren't kidding about kids everywhere haha.
