I am Sea, a 20 year old poli sci student getting ready to graduate in December. FI is a 21 year old engineering student who graduates this May and finishes his masters next May. We have been together since we were 15 and are high school sweet hearts. 

I have been on TK since oooh 2009? I didn't notice the boards until last summer, but I created a new s/n to post in October. 

Hobbies include: shopping, cooking, traveling, studying, Constitutional law, following politics, traveling, and spending time with family.

interesting factoids about yourself: I teach bio & chem at the community college level.  My students are awesome, but typically have more life experience than me (they're mostly married with kids - I'm not even engaged yet, haha).
I'm addicted to cheese.  Just ask BF.  (Potatoes I could take or leave, Harry Potter is good but I'm not addicted, and Twilight is good but I'm not addicted - I actually like the Friday Night Knitting Club books better than either of them)

Today I am ok - the weather is not. I feel like I got transported back to early March. Boo. 

FI and I have been together for about 2 and 1/2 years and we've been engaged for a little over 4 months. . . our wedding is in 6 months and 3 days. . . HOLY CRAP! We're tasting some cake tomorrow - yay! We met through a mutual friend at a bar and both of us were super drunk for our first kiss (same night we met - cuz we're klassy like that).

Apparently I've been a member of TK for almost a year, but didn't start posting here until probably September of last year. How time does fly!

I'm a 4th year bacteriology PhD student. . . if I could go back and start over, I wouldn't. FI is a consultant for a big firm. 

I like to cook, read, swim, and ride my bike (if the weather ever gets better). FI and I are moving to Colorado after I graduate.  I can't effing wait.

Hi, I'm Oceana. You can call me Oceana.

I've been hanging around TK for about three years now...I joined when my sister got engaged to find out how to do this bridesmaid thing, and I just kind of stuck around. I've been on NEY since about Day 1. If you hear the term "Old Guard" (or "Uppity B*tch") get tossed around here, I'd be one of them. I try to give the best meaningful advice I can give, but I'm snarky, and I'll call people out on crap when necessary. I wouldn't expect any less of anyone else here. I've made some amazing friends through this board (more friends than enemies, at least), friendships I wouldn't trade for the world.

I'm 27, a Ph.D. student in marine biology. In my spare time (what little I have that isn't filled with two full-time jobs, a lab schedule and coursework), I like scuba diving, photography, cooking/baking, yoga, hanging out with the SO/friends/fam/dog.

DH is 34, an IT tech, and a dive instructor. He's also working on his masters in marine biology. We got married last week after nearly three years together.




We've got one furbaby (thus far) - a Border Collie/Beagle/Pit Bull mut named Sandy. She sounds ferocious, but is scared of damn near everything, including thunderstorms, vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, luggage, her own reflection, chihuahuas and cockroaches.



Other things you should know about me? I have a bit of an obsession with cheesy so-bad-they're-hilarious killer animal/disaster movies, cupcakes, mojitos, Alexander Skaarsgard, SoBe Lifewater, and chupacabras. I seriously LOVE CHEESE. I hate drama (yes, really!). I wrestle sharks for a living. I won't say anything to any of you here that I wouldn't be willing to say to your face. My theme song may or may not be "I'm On a Boat". Tomatoes turn me into Linda Blair from "The Exorcist". I'm a bit OCD - if you don't believe me, check out my planning profile.

My name is Caitlin; I've been lurking for a few years and I just started posting a few months ago.  I'm a sophomore in college (I'll be a junior in two weeks- eeep!) studying Psychology and Women's Studies.  I'm working my way toward a PhD in Counseling (Clinical Psychology).  I hope to eventually specialize in marriage counseling.

My SO's name is Angelo.  We've been together for a little more than a year.  He was there for me at a pretty rough time in my life as a friend, and it just sort of went from there.

I don't have time for hobbies because I'm a full time student and I have a job, but when I do have five seconds of peace at once, I like to crochet, sew, cook, and read.

I'm AudgiePodge, I'm 26 and FI and I have been together since '09.  I just jumped into this board last year.  I give advice sometimes, but usually I just pop in with a comment some posters can take the wrong way if they haven't lurked and don't understand my posting style.

I have known FI since '99 when we were freshmen in highschool.  Our very first picture together is when we ere both voted 'most creative' in the yearbook.

I have worked with people from AMR which is a place doing some of the same stuff we are, in Maryland. If that helps any? I also worked for a nuclear weapons facility, but it was in Texas. I think they do have one somewhere up there close though.

I joined TK when I was MOH for a friend's wedding and needed to figure out what that all entailed. I started posting regularly about a year ago (i think)

My FI and I have been together just over 2 years and engaged for just over 2 months. We are in our 30s (well, I'll be joining FI shortly). I work in international trade and FI works in transportation.

We have a siberian husky named Molson. Intertesting tidbit, Molo is bi-eyed (one blue eye and one brown eye) which freaks people out to no end.

Stuff about me: I love cooking, baking, reading, travelling, crafting, doing renovations on our first home (atleast trying to) and trying to get into gardening (my tomato seedlings sprouted earlier this week), plus a bunch more.

Pretty tired, I think its the allergies and the benedryl that has finally beaten me down.  I'm a really tired Environmental Studies Graduate student that is FINALLY getting to graduate this May, thank you baby jeebus.

I call him Danish man, Bren knows him as Shelton.  He's a exhibit engineer and designer.  With the occasional side job designing kitchens and doing cabinetry work.  I like to employ him as my personal cook.
 
 We've been together for two years now, we were friends before then.

Hi, I'm Peekaboo (Peek for Short), and I'm a 21 year old Bio Major undergrad about to start grad school in the fall.  I'm currently sitting in a chem lecture for organic (bah).  Like Oceana, I'll be studying marine biology, specifically sharks.  And I'll probably be wrestling them - I'll be working on physiology.

My FI is graduating from his masters in sports industry management in May, and is waiting tables at the moment until he finds a real job.  He and I have been together for 3 years and 3 months, and we've been engaged since March 5 of this year.  We won't be getting married until I've graduated with my masters, as we'll be long distance until then.

I've been around here since February, I think...I don't really know.  It's been a crazy few months.

Exciting things about me/my life: I got new hair (there's an AW a ways down the forum page...), and my abstract got accepted to the meeting in Minneapolis!!!  (Oceana - are you going?)

Hobbies: What are those?  And does drinking count?  I do homework...and research....

I'm csousa, you can call me sousa   I joined TK last year when a friend and my sister were nearing engagement and joined, and I only found this board a few months ago. I lurked for a while and started posting a month or two ago. I'm 26, SO is 27 in a couple weeks and we have been together for 2 years, been living together for a year and 4 months. We have an interesting story that is pretty long but here is the short(er) version. We met through our mutual best friend, and when BF broke up with his ex GF, he made a move on me. Mutual best friend did not like this (it sounds childish and bitchy of her, yes, but there were reasons) so we "couldn't be together". We talked all day every day and became very close and starting falling hard for each other. After about 3 1/2 months of this she let it go and gave us her blessing, and we started hanging out more immediately. We got in a car accident one night (his back right tire blew on his Eclipse spyder convertible) where the car smashed into a telephone pole and flipped and righted itself. We were both fine, and jumped out of the car, and he said, "Oh my God, are you ok? Are you ok? I love you!" At which point I no longer cared about the accident

I love cooking and reading, and we are currently living with my sister and FBIL while their new apt is renovated, so all 4 of us have a blasty blast together. We have a 70 lb VERY hyper chocolate lab named Kali who is beautiful, and our roomies have 2 kitties - Oreo, a very fiesty 6 lb kitty who can chirp at birds, and Smokey, a 17 lb snuggly kitty who is addicted to licking and rolling around in plastic grocery bags.

Hi all! I'm Cackle, real name is Mary - Cackle was my nickname in high school that was given to me during a theatre game because apparently I... well, I cackle when I laugh. And it's just kinda been my screen name for everything ever since. I'm 29, orginally from MN, but have been living in Philly since May of 2005.

I'm craptacular today, TBH. Yesterday was terrible, and today is not much better. All job related, so I won't get into it, but it's at least motivating me to get my side business up and running. I registered for the domain name and got an email set up and everything!

SO is Jon, he's 31. We've been dating for a little over 4 and a half years, but we'll have known eachother for 6 years this July (I was casually "dating" his friend when we met. Talk about a great story for the grandkids, heh). He's a computer programmer, but not your typical nerdy computer guy - he's into punk and rap and other crazy stuff, and he makes me laugh. A lot. we're going to London and Ireland in June for my brother's wedding, so I'm thinking maybe, just maybe he'll propose on the trip? Not getting my hopes up, but it would be kinda cool.

We have two puppies, Ezra and Nero, who I've AW'ed before, but I'll include the pic again because it's super cute. Ezra is a cavachon and Nero is a bichapoo.

I've apparently been on TK since 2007 - I've been on off and on looking for ideas for friends weddings and what not. I didn't start posting on any of the boards until this past January when a friend of mine got me into it.

I've always loved weddings and events, and am *finally* starting to make a career out of it as a DOC. I'm just getting started, but I already love it. I also sing lead vocals in a cover band that does 80's and 90's hairband, punk and rock music, along with some of today's popular songs. Between those two things, hopefully I'll be able to quit my dayjob (doing payroll and UC forms. Used to do HR stuff too but we're so big now that I can only do payroll and I hate it!).

Random facts about me: I too LOVE cheese - the stinkier the better! I'm hoping to get into gardening this spring now that most of our house projects are finished. I'm really into crafty stuff, and I'm kind of an organzing maniac (I The Container Store!). I recently am obsessed with whipped cream vodka. I love silly chick lit and chick mystery books. I have turned into a crazy East coast driving since getting my car 2 years ago. I have some serious road rage that I never had in MN!

I'm a 25 year old grad student in engineering...3 years down, 2 left to go! (Fingers crossed) FI is also 25 and is in the same field as me, but he has a real person job and actually makes money (so jealous). We've been together for about 2 1/2 years and have been engaged for about 4 months.

My hobbies include playing lots of instruments and baking up a storm.

Hello.  I'm ImJacksPGBelly.  I've been on TK for.. years.  I joined with a diff SN in 2002 when I first got engaged to my first husband.  (at 19 yr old.  What the hell was I thinking.. What the hell were my parents thinking encouraging that!?) God knows I wish I'd listened to all the advice I'd gotten then.  OH well. C'est la vie.  Anyway, I started a new SN (this one) when I got pregnant with my son in 2004 b/c that was when they were changing the boards and kicking all us "married gals" off onto the newly made "Nest".  We resisted heavily.  haha.  Anyway, I just started poking around on here again late last year, when BF and I first started to talk *seriously* about marriage.  Not just the "I want to marry you", but talking about particulars.. kind of ceremony, how many people, here or out of state?  Next summer or the following?  etc. 

*Trying* not to preplan now, but it's getting close enough (we've decided on next summer sometime), that I have a hard time holding it in. 

Anyway, I'm 27, a single mom of a 5 yr old, degree in psych, but working in sales and writing for an educational program.. sort of related?  I'm probably going to eventually go back to get my MA in English to pursue my writing more heavily.  I'm lucky because I get to work from home with my current job.

BF is 35, VP of a consulting firm, and travels a lot.  The nice thing is that he works from home when he's not traveling, so he and I get a LOT of time together.  It's heaven. 

We started dating in October 2009, and have spoken every single day since the first day we started talking on the phone.  We became "official" as in public-facebook-status in Sept 2010  (Which was a big deal for me b/c I don't make things public lightly.)

Hobbies.  I write, I play computer games and Wii with my son, and BF's daughter.  I run (doing a Marathon in OCtober.  Eek), I play tennis, I ski, though the season just ended for the year, so it's time to begin the spring/summer hiking.  I sew and design some of my own clothes, though I'm very amateur at it. I have dabbled in modeling, just for fun.. mostly just for hair/makeup practice shoots, but it's been a blast.  I love reading fanatsy/sci-fi novels.  Ender's Game is probably my favorite series ever.

My son is awesome.  He just lost his first tooth, which is insane since I still remember his first tooth growing in.  I can't believe how quickly he's growing up.  It's kind of scary.  :P

I'm Sparkles. I like shiny things, as my name implies. I would like to be an event planner. BF and I are both 23 and have been together for nearly 3 years. I've lived in Las Vegas/Southern Nevada for my whole life, but we'll soon be moving when BF goes to grad school this summer for a PhD in nutrition.

I'm pretty positive and friendly, but I'd like to think that doesn't stop me from giving honest advice when it's called for. I have two degrees; one in Political Science and one in German. I actually hate politics. I studied abroad in Germany in Fall 2009, but I'm nowhere near fluent   My hobbies include doing anything outdoors, cooking, shopping, and I'm trying to get back into powerlifting.

I've been on TK since last June, but I originally had a different screen name. I deleted it since it had incorrect info on the account, and I couldn't change it. I didn't post with it.

I'm Leia. I joined TK in 2009 when I was a BM. I started hanging around NEY about a year ago. I'm 31 and work in consumer electronics.

FI is also 31 and also works in consumer electronics (different company, though). We've been together for almost three years, and we got engaged last September. We're getting married this September (see ticker).

My hobbies are karaoke, bowling, RockBand (the video game), and dance. I take tap and I took ballet last night for the first time in 25+ years.

Interesting fact...hmm. Well, I tried doing gymnastics again at the age of 29. Let's just say that was a much better idea in my mind than in reality. I was also second runner-up in a pageant back in college. I was only in it for the money and got $2,000 for it.

FI and I have been together since Fall '06 and been engaged since January.  We're theoretically getting hitched next June, but until we book a venue, that's all just conjecture.  We're both 25, but I'll turn 26 a good 5 months before he does and he never lets me live that down.  He's a (medical) student, and I work in education.

Sparkles88, lol, FI and I had to fend off a squirrel in the Grand Canyon that wanted our trail mix.  The little bugger literally came up to FI and grabbed for the bag.
