Halloween

I have 7 minutes until freedom (get off work) and I'm thinking about Halloween. What are you all thinking about being (if you've thought about it yet)? Pics are welcome! :)

I want to be Amelia Earhart... mostly so I have an excuse to buy boots! :)

The girls are with us this year, so we're planning to dress like the Flinstones or the Incredibles.

I don't really do Halloween much anymore, and if I do I usually throw something together at the last minute. I'm no fun!

Ollie: That's a cute idea. Would you have two Pebbles?

Swhite: The only reason I dress up is because my family has a party. Otherwise, I wouldn't either, but I love Halloween so I love our parties and the excuse to dress up. : ) I either plan way ahead or go last minute. One year I took silky pajama bottoms and an old 80s shirt that my mom had that was off the shoulder and huge, tucked a pillow under it, put a headband on and painted my face with a flower. I went as a hippie and held a sign that said, "Make love, not war" lol. Easy and everyone could tell what I was.

You know I haven't thought about a costume but I am so excited to have an actual porch this year to display the pumpkins that FI and I carve.  We get so into it.  We will probably base our costume around what we end up dressing our puppy as.  I saw doggy costumes at the stores and got so excited at the prospect of dressing maus up.  Perhaps I can dress Maus as a lobster and FI & I can be chefs?  There was a cute unicorn costume as well.

Mary Tyler Moore as Laura Petrie on The D!ck Van Dyke Show!

It'll be fun and fairly easy: just have to find a fitted, 60s-style knee-length dress at a vintage/consignment store. The rest is all hairspray, pearls, and makeup!

Ely, AE is a great idea! I like DSW for boots. :)

It kills me every time: TK won't allow me to post "D!ck," but "Dyke" is just fine. Cool

I love Halloween! I always have multiple costumes :) You can see last years in my Goodwill post.

This year so far, I am going as Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez and I dunno... I actually Kind of want to for the first time dress a little sexy one night. I finally am not scared of showing off my bad, I've worked damn hard for it! lol So, something sexy but not slutty and that will match whatever BF ends up being.

CCO: I decided I wanted to do the same thing 2 years ago, when I was small enough to buy an outfit at Wal-Mart and decided to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I didn't want to show too much leg though, so I bought some bloomer shorts off of ebay, lol.

Bf and I actually talked about this the other day. He has been growing out quite the facial hair - because he left his trimmer charger at the hotel from the last wedding we went to - so he said he should just keep growing it out and we could be white trash. He would have his scruff and one of his dad's Rod & Gun club trucker hats, and I would have beer helmet and a beater that says, "I'm drinking for two."

I'm not so sure this is what we will really be doing, however. Haha. I have had some good costumes in the past. The best "sexy" one was the year I went as a German beer maid and my ex went as one of the guys from the  U.S. team in "Beerfest" - I must say I made a hot beer maid. Ah, I miss that body.

The funniest was when I was 13, I didn't want to go trick-or-treating and last minute I decided to go out with my friend's little brother as Beauty AND the Beast - I wore a lavender gown and a snout and painted whiskers on my cheeks. It was pretty funny.

Your story reminded me of the Halloween when I was 16, my neighbor broke her leg like the day before and her husband was out of town, and since I babysat her kids a lot she asked if I could take them trick or treating. Which I did. I wasn't expecting to get candy because I was so old, so I didn't bring a bag or anything. I did wear fairy wings though, over my coat. It happened to be one of those 1/2 zip pull over coats with the big pocket in the front. And people kept giving me candy, so I put it in my pouch. At the end of the night some lady was all like "you need to stop having children! You're way too young to have those three already, and to have a 4th? you should be ashamed of yourself!" My pouch was so full of candy it made me look like I was pregnant. I told her they weren't my kids and the pouch was candy. She felt so bad she gave all of us extra.<div>
</div><div>I haven't decided what I'm going to be for Halloween yet. My BF and I were thinking about doing some sort of couple's costume this year, but we're not sure yet...</div>

<div>OMG. Awkward, LOL. My friend went as a pregnant Nascar fan last year and she got some very funny looks in the bar. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /> She drew on tattoos and wore a tank top over a huge fake belly.</div>

    Love the tetris idea!

If we decide to do anything this year I'd love to go as a gypsy and try to create a costume kinda like this:

but I'm not sure yet.  My BF isn't big on dressing up, so we'll see if I can convince him to do something this year...

Uhm, YES? I had the dolls and the stage playset when I was little! Truly outrageous! <3

As for my own Halloween plans, this is going to sound horrible, but...I was thinking about going as...tentacle porn. ^^;;; I'd be in a schoolgirl uniform with a large squid attached to my person somehow.
