Go for it!  I've heard good things.  Check out TripAdvisor.com for specific reviews on specific locations.  But some time alone is all you need.  Check out Cancun and Cozumel and Riviera Maya and Acalpulco - there are some fantastic deals right now because tourists hear "Mexican drug violence" and flee.  Seriously, the resorts are fine (though I'd use more precautions in Acapulco than Cancun/Cozumel/Riviera Maya based on geography alone) but the discounts are RIDICULOUS!

FI and I are going to Tha Sandals resort in the bahamas for our HM! We are so excited! I love that its all inclusive so we don't have to worry about carrying arond cash! There are tons of activities that sound like they are so much ffun-  most are included, like scuba diving and various sports like tennis! Unfortunately anything having to do with the spa, like massages and facials, are extra, and some other things I frogot. There are also a bunch of great resturaunts at the resort to choose from- some fancy ones you have to really dress up for, but most you just need to wear semi- nice clothes like skirts or sundresses. Have fun with whatever you decide!

While I've never stayed at one, I've heard primarily good things about Sandals resorts (although BF's Mom went to one, and didn't like it...then again, she's never satisfied). The one negative I've heard, over and over, is that you can find the same quality at other resorts for less, because you're paying a lot for the Sandals name.

We recently returned from staying at a Riu resort, and we were very impressed. It was beautiful! They maintain a high standard of quality at all of their resorts (so I've heard), so you might check that out as well.

Like Cate (Calindi) suggested, Trip Advisor is your friend. They have loads of reviews on all brands/locations of resorts! Also, check out the Honeymoon board if you haven't already. The ladies there often have good insights.

We looked into a couple of the Sandals resorts when we were picking a HM destination.  They looked pretty nice and had decent reviews.  The thing we liked most about that AI chain in particular is that they are the only ones that include diving in the price, which would be a big saver for FI and I.  We'll probably go to one of them for our anniversary or something.

I have never been to a Sandals resort but FI and I went to one of the Riu properties in Puerto Vallarta (I think it was Riu Vallarta?) and had a fantastic trip.

I've never stayed at a Sandals but we're considering the Sandals in Varadero for our HM.  I've heard good things BUT like anything else research is your friend.  I second TripAdvisor...I love that website.

Sandels are great but you can get the same or a lot more for less money at other resorts. Sandels are also very big. For our HM we wanted something smaller and less expensive. We went to a Couple Resort in Jamaica and it was absolutely incredible.

I think Sandels are kind of overpriced...

^ They have discounts on super luxurious trips sometimes, depending on how all-out you want to go.
