I just need to vent...

My last birthday present ever from my mom's best friend came in the mail today. I was so excited, but after opening them, I'm so disappointed in the quality. BF is taking pictures and plans on sending them emails of how poor they are set and how much junk is in the blown glass. Hopefully the company will take care of things... But I'm pretty devastated right now. Every year I drool over these goblets and opening them today was nothing like what I thought it would be...

They're supposed to look like this:

But instead the blown glass part on the one is at an angle... The tails don't make a heart... And there's just so much junk in the glass. The one looks like it has a crushed bug... I just don't understand what happened. I knew I'd be sad opening the box obviously, but I didn't know I'd be disappointed by what I saw...

What I don't understand is why you would even think of shipping something that looks like this:

How do you not notice that? I understand that being handmade they aren't going to be perfect, but that is just so obviously wrong. They weren't cheap either...

That sucks. The one looks okay (from what I can see) but that other one is seriously defective. I hope the company makes things right.

Wow that is terrible..where are they from ? I would be sending some emails , pics and phone calls out pronto

They're from Ballena Bay Pewter which is in AZ. They're at our ren fest every year though and their work there is always gorgeous. Since BF put them on his credit card and took the bday money, he sent them an email with pictures of all the issues. He plans on calling them tomorrow if he doesn't hear back from them.

It sucks even more because it's not the first time I've had an issue ordering something from one of our ren fest shops. A couple years ago I ordered my corest and skirt from a place there. I was supposed to get it 6 months later and ended up getting it a year and a half later. I had to have the owners of the festival step in... I really hope it doesn't come down to that again.
