Wedding band inscriptions.

Is anyone doing this? We're considering the idea, but not sure of what we want it to say yet. So far our favorite is "I promise you forever". Just curious how many people still do inscriptions on their rings.

DH has our initials and the date inscribed in his. My bands were too skinny in the back to have anything engraved, and I ended up having them soldered, so any inscription I would have gotten would have been ruined anyways.

Hubs promised me that he'd get me something to "make up" for not being able to engrave my ring. I'm (notso)secretly hoping it's this:

In hammered finish, it be gorgeoussssssssssssssss.

I've seen finger prints inside of rings on pinterest as well as the engravings... BF and I talked about his a little when we were Ering shopping, I think I might get a tiny heart made from his metal inside of my ring and he'll get a tiny rose gold heart inside of his ring. That way its like we have eachothers's hearts :) Feel free to steal the idea if you like t!

That's cute! : ) I am not sure how big a band has to be for it to be engraved, but I'm hoping to have something that is a bit wider than what I've been seeing in the stores, without anything on it. Just a simple gold band. Hopefully it will be enough to engrave on.

That's pretty cool! FI's got a tungsten ring though, so I don't think there's a lot they can do with it. I love that idea though! So your e-ring is a rose gold then? I don't remember seeing many of those when we went to look, but they're pretty!

I had a friend in elementary/high school who was obsessed with Romeo and Juliet (the play, all the movie adaptations, etc) and wanted to have "I love thee" engaved in a ring like Clare Danes does in the 1990's version. It's been years since we've talked but I wonder if she still thinks about doing that...

This. Exactly. The engraving on H's band is the same as my necklace.

I don't think I ever actually saw that movie. I used to be obsessed with Beauty and the Beast and wish for Belle's dress whenever I wished on a star and all that, lol. As I got older I still loved the style, but not in yellow. My wedding dress isn't anything like that though. I forgot about that until you brought that up, lol.

A couple i've known since HS was out a couple weeks ago with their 10-mo old girl. Ducks apparently have been a big thing for them...and I found out her ring is engraved with "quack". I thought that was such a funny choice, but obviously it's meaningful to them. I think that's the most important part - that it holds meaning to the couple.

BF and I have talked about "I carry your heart" since we both sign all of our cards that way. I had put a portion of the ee cummings poem in one of the 1st cards I ever gave him and it's stuck. Guess we'll see when the time for rings comes what we decide.

I haven't even thought about this yet!  I have a ring from FI that says "I love you Raven... Forever"  I love it.  I think only his ring can be engraved.  I will most likely as him what he wants.  Maybe something from one of my poems that he loves.  Who knows?  I think it is cool to have something that is meaningful to you but your names and your wedding date is adorable too.

Yup... I love rose gold, have since I was about 13. It took some major looking to find rose gold, but it was worth it. I'll AW pics of it when I get, of course! lol

We're using my grandmother's ring, so it has 'To Dot from Glen' and their wedding anniversary engraved inside. I don't think we'd get anything inscribed inside of Tyler's.

    LOL!

We didn't do inscriptions, though I thought about it. Mine is too narrow, and I just wasn't sure what to put on H's, so I didn't do anything.

Ours each say "To my beloved (initials, date)"  The beloved is due to the "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine" from our Jewish wedding.

I love the engravings - and its interesting to me how long they last.  I have my grandparents wedding bands in the necklace my grandmother made and you can still see the engravings on each of the rings.
