Help me plan an anniversary date?

So, BF and I have our 5-year anniversary on Thursday. To be honest, neither of us have really made any plans (that I'm aware of), and I'm a little bummed out about it now. I mean, 5 years is a long time!

We're usually not big gift givers, but I'd like to do something to recognize the day. Any ideas? Should I get him a gift, or just do a card like usual? BF doesn't get home until about 8:30PM, so we could save it until Saturday if that's better. I'd like to keep it simple in case BF actually did plan a surprise that I'm not aware of...so nothing extravagant.

I'd go out on the weekend since he gets home late, but do something nice and have it ready for him when he gets home. It could be a card, or chocolate, or something more manly that he'd like but that isn't over the top. Maybe his favorite six pack? (I'm still thinking chocolate... but maybe that's because I want chocolate...)

I'm thinking candles, a romantic dinner served picnic style on the living room floor, massage oils, and lingerie. Then again, my mind is in the gutter today. An upscale gutter, like that of a mansion or a ritzy country club, but the gutter nonetheless.

Do you live anywhere near a casino? BF and I have gone to a few and we'll pick a nice place there to have dinner, have a few drinks, gamble a little bit, listen to the music, etc and it's usually a really fun time. It's like being in a different world for a while.

I'm loving csousa's idea too :) Romantic and sexy!
And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image

    I second Sousa's idea!!

How about making his favorite meal or something you know he loves but doesn't get to have too often & surprising him with it when he gets home from work?

[QUOTE]Have you ever done a photobook for him? That might be something nice to do for a milestone like five years. They're not TOO expensive from Shutterfly and they are easy to put together.

Sorry that was somewhat of a post & run...I got tied up on a phone call and then had a lunch meeting.

You have all given me wonderful suggestions! I've done a photo book for every trip we've been on together...so I don't know if I'd have enough pics to do another one right now. They are awesome though!

I also love the picnic dinner idea. We've done that before, but it's been a while...and it's never been a naughty picnic!

But the idea i'm leading towards right now is kelly's casino idea. Casino's aren't really my thing, but BF loves going once in a while and I think he'd really enjoy that. Maybe if I can find a super deal on a room we'll go to Blackhawk this weekend. We did Las Vegas almost 3 years ago and it was a blast. This could be our own mini-Vegas!

I like sousa's idea and of course I'd always suggest going to the theater.  Perhaps a nice home cooked meal that night of your anniversary and then a fancy dinner out over the weekend.

You could get tickets for something that you'd both enjoy going to.

A while back I did a scavenger hunt for FI. I made little clues and hid them around the apartment, in his car, in the local park, and even around the apartment complex. He had to figure out where the next clue was to figure out the prize at the end. The end was me waiting for him with a picnic. I've actually done this twice. The second time I just used a compass and coordinates, lol. We're nerds.

Either way, congrats!! Five years is awesome!! : )
