Bling follow-up details with some pics

Not to beat a dead horse but to follow up from my earlier post about decided between two rings, I found some pictures that can help show the differences between rings.

This clicky shows what the more expensive ring looks like except that instead of being round, the one I like is cushion cut with a more square halo portion on the outside.  It's more delicate with smaller surrounding stones than the second ring. This one has the cathedral like this:

Now, this clicky is almost exactly like the less expensive one from the family jeweler.  It doesn't have the cathedral arms on the side:

And from the top:

Opinions?
I think I'll bring the pic of the one with cathedral arms to our family jeweler tomorrow and see if he can do anything like that and still keep it at a lower price.  Not sure if that's possible but that would make it easier!

I really like the second one, but I'm with Yaga in that I don't like the diamond sticking out of the flat band. Hopefully your jewler can work something out! They're both very beautiful. :)

I like the first one better just because it seems like it wont get snagged as easily. But it is 1500 more exensive... o jeez. Tough decisions!

My ring is very similar is style to the second one, so I really like it. But, if you feel more comfortable with having the cathedral setting I would talk to BF and the jeweler about a custom ring.

I like the first one as well style wise...I like how it tapers down and like the other said isn't coming out of a flat band.  Maybe showing the jeweler exactly what you like will be able to help him see if there is something he knows about that he can order or make special for you.  Then maybe you both get what you want in the end :)

You and I have similar taste, Meg.  The one you prefer is really similar to my actual e-ring.  (minus the color).

    I had mine custom-designed:

Wow - we have very similar taste Meg! This is the e-ring I'm hoping BF has hidden somewhere in the condo. (with the wedding band)

I think both of them are beautiful and the differences seem to be fairly minor. I personally would try to work with family jeweler to save some money, but if you have your heart set on the other one make sure your talk with your guy about it.

Meg, I like the 1st one.  I don't usually like rings where the stone just sits on top of the band.  It looks odd to me.  I agree that you should take some pictures to the family jeweler and see if you can have it custom made.  Even if it is a little more expensive, it seems like it's still within your budget.  So, if you can get the ring you want within your budget from the family jeweler, it's a win win win! :)

I like the first one as well. I think in person they would look comparable and you'd probably never really notice a difference once you got used to wearing either ring, but #1 just looks more, I don't know, secure. That's just based on me, though. I'm not a very delicate person, and I tend to break anything that can be broken, so I'm paranoid like that. I like the structure and shape of the first one.

I like the cathedral... I have a feeling that your jeweler will be able to do it for only a few hundred dollars more.
