BF got a job offer!

BF given a conditional offer for a part-time firefighting position for a nice big, growing suburb here in Cincinnati on Friday afternoon!  He will have to complete a phsical background test, drug screening, psychological evaluation and lie detector test in the coming weeks before it's truly official but we're super excited!

Just wanted to share the exciting news.  This will mean he will be quiting his good paying job that he despises and will be either getting on another department part-time or doing something like bartending/waiting tables to help make up for the lost income.  It's a little scary for us but we are both very happy that he is going to be living out his dream and believe that it will all come together.  And with my moving in and not having to pay rent and utilities there anymore it will be okay for us to lose some income for a little while.

Congrats!  Changing a job situation that makes you miserable is almost always a good idea.  I'm sure however it works out, he'll be relieved!

    Congrats Mr. Dwest!

Does he swing 9lbs sledge hammers in the backyard? That's what my friends do. Also, I had a friend kicked out of a job for getting a new gatorade bottle, so make sure he toes the line with all the rules.

Around here (well CT) my BF runs up and down these old stadium steps (very steep I think theres 120 steps? IDK I only did it once) while wearing 100 lb weight vest for fun. I sit at the bottom and eat a candy bar, I think its a great deal

He has a 70lb. weighted vest and he's been wearing that around and when he runs for a while.  He's significantly stronger than what he was a few months ago.  He helped move me this weekend and was lifting things on his own that I could barely pick up my side of.  He was like "back up babe, I got this" and I was like "oh no your going to get hurt"... of course he was fine.  He's a brut these days and I like it! :)

Thats the nice part about all the training. I can't even lift his weight vest my 105 lbs just does not cut it. The one thing my older sister tried to tell me when I was in high school was to never date a firefighter, HA I am not good at following directions I guess

I love it!  This makes me smile!

My guy does runs with a 70lb pack on his back, so that's similar.  And pull ups with weighted belts, dunno how many pounds.

It's really nice to have someone strong enough to do the heavy lifting, especially while moving!

Oh and thank you all for the Congrats... I'll pass it along.

Desert called him Mr.Dwest... hehe!  I'm the last person in my family with my name (where Dwest came from) and my dad would be thrilled if he took my name or I kept mine, but he knows that would never happen!

Just got word that he has his lie detector test on Thursday morning... it's all happening so much faster than we thought it would.  He just graduated from the academy a couple weeks ago and this is the first department that he interviewed with!  Totally awesome! :)

And yes Jeter the fact that he will be able to do what he's has always dreamed of doing is super exciting.  I'm thrilled and he's byond words!

Thanks all!  We heard last night that a guy who he went to high school with (but is a few years younger) and went through the academy with got an offer yesterday for the same department so he's even happier about that!

I grew up with Firefighters since my uncle and a bunch of our close friends of the family were Firefighters so I never looked at them as being hot.  Now 2 of my cousins are as well, also don't see them as hot, obviously.  I mean I always thought that there were a couple hot Firefighters but that it was rare (like the calendar guys).  But now that BF is I keep noticing that there are some pretty good looking ones... best part is I have one of the hot ones all to myself! :)
