AW: Hire the Latinist Update

Whew, am I fried! I talked to all the districts that offer Latin--some of those conversations went really well (like full-time Latin positions with teachers beyond retirement age kind of hopeful well). So I feel decent about those.

I also visited with many districts that didn't offer Latin since I'm also English Language Arts certified and ESL certified. I had some awesome positive conversations there as welll. One district seemed really interested in me, saying things like "you'd be in my high school" and "the person who will contact you is...."  So neat, except that was for English, not Latin, but still good...

So I feel pretty good about how it went--and it was excellent practice for interviews.

Yay!!! If you get one of the ELA jobs, they'll probably see how awesome you are at that and think "Oh wow! becunning would be a great Latin teacher! Let's add a Latin program!"

    @ Elle:  How'd yours go?

@ Tiger and Danser:  Definitely hopeful--going to fill out some online applications now too.

@ Andrew:  Goodness, I hope so. I did discuss that idea with a few districts!

Thanks for asking.  It was pretty much useless.  I got a lot of fliers with web addresses on them because "we do all our hiring online" and that was pretty much the end of the conversation.  I would have done better staying home and googling stuff.
