S/O - Favorite Seafood Recipe

Jaycee's post has me thinking about dinner. I don't eat seafood. I've never really tried much of it at all, it's never been appetizing to me. I'm a pretty picky eater (I used to be far worse, but my XH was a chef, so he opened my eyes to lots of stuff). My BF loves seafood (particularly fish and chips - he's British). I'd really like to attempt to eat fish, and I'd like to surprise him with a nice meal some time this week.

So what's your favorite seafood recipe? Or what do you suggest I try?

Tilapia would be a good fish for you to try because it is very light and doesn't have a very "fishy" taste to it.  Here is a recipe that looks yummy and easy:

You could serve with rice or mashed potatoes and green beans.

ETA: If you want to try salmon, I make a recipe similar to this that is very tasty:

I would serve with brown rice and snap peas.

When I was in elementary school I tried baked cod at a local restaurant and fell in love with seafood. I don't have the exact recipe but it is just a cod fillet baked in butter and lemon juice with salt, pepper, old bay seasonings and crushed ritz crackers on top.

My favorite seafood is shrimp, particularly grilled shrimp. If you have a grill I would recommend grilling some with a teriyaki glaze.

If anyone has a good recipe for beer battered fish I would love you forever! It is one of Ty's favorites and I can never find a good recipe.

Do you like fish and chips? For someone trying to eat fish more I think you'll have the best luck with a mild fish, which fish and chips normally use.

My favourite seafood dish at the moment is mussels with chorizo and cheesey garlic bread.

I LOVE seafood. My favorite is shrimp because you can do so much with it.

I just did grilled shrimp with this Cajun spice called "Cajun Foreplay" (haha) which was soo simple, all i did was put the seasoning on and grill it.

Another easy recipe is to sauté the shrimp in garlic and olive oil and then put it with cheese tortellini (garnish it with basil, a little more olive oil and parmesan cheese). It's a nice alternative to chicken with pasta.

I'm super picky when it comes to fish also, I don't like anything that tastes too "fishy".  As PP said, tilapia or halibut are really really good, not very fish or strong tasting! I'm actually making tilapia tonight (I posted the same link on the other thread), the recipe is really easy & it's delicious!!

I love fish. If you don't like the "fishy" taste/smell, fish and chips would be your best option because it uses fish that doesn't have a strong flavor. Tilapia and cod are most commonly used for fish and chips.
