Taking a trip to the southern east coast... Need advice :)

The BF and I took a little trip over the long weekend to visit his family in Kansas. On the drive home he said he wants to go on a road trip with me sometime. We have tentatively decided to hop in our car and start driving the Saturday before thanksgiving and head towards the Georgia/ South Carolina area, we will head back on Tuesday or Wednesday to leave for Kansas City for Thanksgiving Thursday evening.

We would most likely drive to Atlanta to visit a friend of his on Saturday and then head to somewhere between Myrtle Beach, SC and Jacksonville, FL. I know I have seen plenty of you ladies talking about this area and I was wondering what would be a nice place to visit for a couple nights.

Thanks in advance!

Obviously my vote would be Myrtle Beach, specifically North MB. The water is nice and warm and there is a ton to do. If you decide to go there let me know and I'll give you some recs!

Well, as of right now, just about everywhere on the east coast is being swamped with rain due to all these tropical storms and hurricanes that keep popping up, but when it's not the middle of hurricane season, any of those places are actually rather beautiful. I've never been to SC, but I've always wanted to go, as I hear the beaches there are really beautiful.

Yeah we are hoping the east coast will be back to beautiful by Thanksgiving time :)

Jaycee, I'd love some recs! I'd like to start looking around soonish so I can figure out pricing.

Some other places besides Myrtle Beach we've talk about are Charlotte, Hilton Head,  or Savannah

I second Liv on Charleston! There are so many beaches close by and there is so much to see. If you do go to Charleston, you have to stop somewhere and get Pralenes (I may be spelling wrong). They are an amazing candy with nuts that is softer than toffee...but so delicious!

I also like Myrtle Beach, though it is much more "commercialized".

    I vote Kansas!

    ....oh wait....

My mom is trying to get me to go to Hilton Head next summer; she loves it. But that's in North Carolina.  I know my mom had a blast in Charleston though, but she's kind of a history buff...

I'm thinking Charleston might be nice too... It looks like the shortest drive too.

Cunning... We should grab a bite sometime when I'm driving through! I'm in KC or driving through at least once a month!

Charleston is great, but consider Savannah as well!  It will be a little closer to Atlanta and is a gorgeous town.  If you don't care about the water, Greenville, SC and Asheville, NC are beautiful, especially during that time of the year.

Myrtle Beach, Savannah, or Charleston. Also St. Simons Island. If youre only going to go as far south as Jacksonville, dont bother, but if youre willing to drive another 45 minutes, St. Augustine is awesome.

I vote Savannah!!  Mainly because of those places it's the only one I've been but it was absolutely beautiful!!  We went to Paula Deen's restaurant for dinner & walked along the water, it was a really nice time :)
