I saw on your Halloween questions thingy that you're going to a Panic at the Disco concert on Halloween! MAD JEALOUS over here. I'm a huge PATD fan, I'm seeing them on 11/4 (some tour, obvs, with Patrick Stump - so so so excited!).

Not a whole lot of PATD fans on here that I know of =)

Hi Bsidebella, yep, I like a wide variety of music but I am a fan of Panic! At the Disco. I'm also a subscriber to Sirius/XM and I listen a lot to AltNation which has given me a thorough indie rock education. I'm excited for the Halloween concert, I saw PATD in May this year at a huge festival. They were awesome but being in the moshpit was annoying. Panic! At the Disco literally turned into panic! at the disco once the crowdsurfers started flying. I was like, "Chick (or dude), I did not get this close so that your thong sticking out over your shorts could block my view of the band. Quit being an attention ho and let's watch the show." So yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing them at a venue that I know doesn't allow that crazy stupidity.

Early November should still have that Halloweeny vibe for you. My birthday is November 8th, so for me, Halloween is like the kick off of the wintry fun season. I hope you will see them at a nice venue. The cooling temps should keep any skanky crowdsurfers at bay.

    Cool

Yeah, the people at PATD shows can get nasty. Their fans are ... well ... I've definitely been to shows with better crowds. Panic fans can either be really nice or super creepy.

I love, love, love them, though (in a non-creepy way). "Northern Downpour" is our wedding song; and I have lyrics to "That Green Gentleman" tattooed on my back.

November will be my 3rd time seeing Panic live ... I saw them once in 2008 at a large stadium-like arena and it was an awful experience. It was a good show - the Cab, Plain White T's, Dashboard Confessional, and Panic - but the atmosphere was terrible. People were a-holes. Then I saw them play a small show this February (it was their first show in the US in about two years) at a 500-person venue in NYC. Now I'm seeing them again at a local venue here in NJ, quite possibly my favorite concert venue, Starland Ballroom. I've been to countless shows there and I've never been disappointed.

Oh, and here's a video of me and FI making Brendon Urie laugh in the middle of a song at the show in February:

Wow, I'll need to watch that video later as no video allowed during working hours, but I'll have to watch it this weekend sometime. It makes sense that it's a Panic fan thing because I remember the crowdsurfers being especially bad then. They were also terrible during Weezer but that was made up for because Rivers Cuomo jumped into the audience and surfed around the arena. You saw the Cab? Not as in Death Cab? Because Death Cab is on my list of all time "man I really need to see them live" bands. I'd love to see Dashboard too. I went to a festival that they were at as a teen, but I was in the "eww, I'm not listening to a band that I haven't heard on the radio" phase.

I have not listened to Panic's other stuff really but I definitely should look them up on YouTube. Haha, I probably shouldn't say this but, when I lived in England for college I went through a phase where I dated very metrosexual guys. Like wore eyeliner, had more designer clothes than me (I didn't have any, really) ie: Chanel pour homme, Armani jeans pour homme, quasi-anorexic pretty boys. I actually broke up with one because I found out I'd left my hair spray at his place and he never gave it back because he was using it. Anyway, at this concert, my friend turned to me and said, "Why does PATD look like a parade of your college ex-boyfriends?" Hehe, don't get me wrong, I love PATD's style.

I agree that small venues are the best. I usually go to small shows. That said, the Mumford and Sons concert with 10k hyper fans, straight grown men hopping around and doing Celtic jigs, was pretty fantastic. Anyway, thanks so much for saying hi to me, I'll have to be sure to watch that video as soon as I can sit down this weekend (not tonight).

By the way, I actually don't know what Victorian steampunk is, but it sounds intriguing.

CCO - it was a GREAT concert, but for me, the experience was terrible. I am really short, and the venue we were at was completely flat - there was nowhere for me to go where I could see. I spent most of the time watching the concert through my camera.

yaga - I had no idea you were a Panic fan too! =D I was so lucky to get into that show in February. A friend of mine is a member of their fanclub, and she was able to buy our tickets presale. The concert was actually featured in an issue of Alternate Press magazine, and you can see me in one of the pictures LOL

tigerlily - no, the Cab isn't the same as Death Cab for Cutie. The Cab is a band of young dudes from Las Vegas, they were actually discovered by Panic at the Disco. They actually just came out with a new album called Symphony Soldiers, and the lead singer has an incredible voice.
