Male engagement and wedding rings

So, I'm curious if anybody knows this..

When your man proposes to you and gives you a ring, do you go out and buy him one too?

How are the men's wedding bands/rings bought?  As a couple? so, confused about the whole ring thing...

You don't have to, but I'm sure there are people who do. Some girls on here have gotten their FI's watches as a gift.

You could get the ring together if you wanted, a lot of jewellery stores carry men's rings.

We're NEY, but he did get a promise ring when we did those.  We just went to Zales and he picked one he liked.

I told him it was to keep the ravenous undergrads off of him while he was the hot grad student. ;-)

My guy said he'd feel weird wearing an engagement ring, as it would probably be misunderstood as a wedding ring since guys usually only wear a wedding ring.  He wants to save that for the wedding day.

We opted to get an engagement watch instead.  Others might not know what it means, so it's not "marking your territory" like an engagement ring, but it means something special to us and will be a nice reminder to him whenever he sees it.  If you want a public visual display that he's off the market, then a ring's probably the only thing that would work.  Though if someone felt the need to "mark their territory", they probably have jealousy or trust issues they'd need to work out.

Typically, the guy buys the girl an engagement ring.  Then a few months before their wedding, they both go and buy the wedding rings together.  Or she can buy his, and he can buy hers.  Or they each can pick out their own.  Really, however you want to do it!

Some people do but most I know don't. I've known several of my friends to go buy their FI a gift of some sort though after the proposal - most of the time they get a nice watch or something else their FI has been wanting.

When we picked out our wedding bands we went to the store and picked both of ours out together - mine is the matching band to my e-ring and his is tungsten.

We went together, and when FI found something he wanted, we bought it. He started wearing it once it came in, a little over 6 months before our wedding.

We are not doing an e-ring for FI. I wanted to buy him a nice watch but convinced me not to. I will buy him a really nice watch for the wedding instead.

As far as wedding bands go. We picked his band out together as a couple. We ordered his band online from the same company that we got my e-ring from. We picked out a band that he liked, ordered the sizer and ordered the ring. His ring is made of the same metal that my ring is made out of. Buying a wedding ring online is not right for everyone but since we had gotten my e-ring and wedding ring with this same company we were comfortable ordering his as well.

If your guys is unsure of what he wants you two should go to a jeweler and try some on.

I'll be getting BF an engagement ring. I just like the idea of it, and he already has everything else he wants. So ring it is!
