P.S.  It was more than just not capitalizing.  It was also WHAT you wrote.  Even with proper grammar and punctuation, the content would have sucked

Okay, seriously, this is the NOT engaged yet forum. We're not wedding planning. If you want wedding ideas and tips, look at the other boards. We're the chicks who are enjoying our relationships as they are now and looking forward to a time when we're engaged, not the ones who are actively planning weddings. Read the sticky before you post. Also lurking is recommended before posting on ANY forum.

There's a post at the top of the NEY board that is permanent entitled "Read Before Posting.  That's how you're supposed to know how to navigate the board.

Nobody was overly harsh.  They just asked that you consider how planning your wedding without your fiance would affect your life/relationship (taking the fun out of planning, excluding your FI, etc.).

That being said, the pink and the caps lock was friggin' obnoxious.  People asked nicely if you'd consider posting in a more readable color.  Nobody called you names.  Nobody insulted you or your relationship.  Calm down.

I read the whole thread and I would hardly say you were "crucified" anywhere in there. Half the posts weren't even about you.

The pink was pretty difficult to read but that's a pretty tame thing to say. If you're on a forum don't you want people to be able to easily read your posts?

The ladies here were just trying to get you to enjoy your relationship as is and not go at warp speed so that you and your FI can plan your wedding together when the time comes. Does't that sound more fun?

You will NOT be taken seriously on any message board (or in life) when you do not use proper punctuation or capitalization.  It is that simple. 

You will also NOT be taken seriously on any message board when you play the victim. 


P.S. The Knot is generally for people who ARE planning weddings.  This is the only board devoted to those who are NOT engaged yet.  However, despite the little line at the top, this is NOT a place for planning a wedding when you are NOT engaged.  Nobody cares about how super duper special you are or how your relationship is just the bee's knees.  There are all sorts of posters here: single, engaged and married.  Nobody cares about your relationship status.  People do care when you seem to ignore where your relationship is in the now and try to skip ahead to the future.

I try not to waste too much time or energy on people who don't have the sense to lurk, or to read the post clearly stating to read it first, or to see the link to said post when someone kindly copies and pastes it into a response to them, OR read it when yet another person directs them where to look.
