Oh, man, that is full of truthiness. I just had someone ask me  a couple hours ago -- NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME -- if I was REALLY sure I'm not having twins.

People walk in the door at work and the first thing they do is look at my belly.

People have also been staring at me slowly getting out of my chair and gimping around the office all day.  One smartass even helpfully offered to go get something for me b/c he didn't want to have to watch me "waddle all the way over there."

6 weeks should go by fast, right??? RIGHT??!!

**Sorry, I edited to remove excessive bitchiness. It's my prerogative as a hormonal pregnant lady. :P

  • I found that last night, and when I read your rant today, I knew you'd appreciate it. ;)

I could never be pregnant. I'd either slug people or puke on them.
  • There really is a lot of stuff that is awesome. Feeling him move, the increasing bond between H and I, being part of an experience shared by billions of women and families over history...

It's the everday actual business of dealing with the physical process and with other people that makes the reality of it hard at times.

  • I felt so bad when my SIL put my hand on her abdomen. I'd never felt a baby kick/move before, so I was pretty excited.

Then, I felt my niece moving around, and the first words out of my mouth were, "Oh my god! It's so weird! It's like Alien!"

In my crowd, laughter would have ensued. In front of my SIL, parents, aunt, and uncle... not so much. I was horrified. I apologized and tried to laugh it off, but omg awkward. :(
  • Gosh, it's unfortunate that you're related to people with no sense of humor.

They joke and laugh a lot, but it's usually about bodily functions. :-P<div>
I love my family so much, but yeah... I'm definitely the black sheep. They live in small town northern Michigan. Our city ways are strange and foreign to them.</div>

I don't know what could be considered more "bodily function" than pregnancy, but whatever! I think I would laugh my ass off if someone said that to me while pregnant.

I meant fart jokes, but yeah... ;) I thought it was pretty funny, but then I realized my SIL was probably offended. We get along great, but we're total opposites.
