Who's around?

There's no bubbles.  The Knot is so slow loading today.  And I still have no pics of my dress.  Someone entertain me pretty please.  Kiss

I've got nothing.  No news.  My temps are all over the place after having the stomach flu (real stomach flu, not 'morning sickness') and getting anti-nausea Rx, so I have no clue what is going on.

Waiting on my disc to make a full married bio.  Realizing that we didn't get a picture with DH's grammy and I feel like crap about it.  :(

Oh that's too bad.  Did other people take pictures of her?

Nothing happening with me either.  We painted our kitchen!  We are refinancing our mortgage and wanted to get it done before the appraiser came.  I have a crappy camera phone pic I can send to myself and put on here but it's sort of a dark red.

Here's my kitchen.  The picture is all blurry.  I think my camera was drunk.

    I like the color!

I'm around too but my reply box is being funky sometimes so I can't always post. I have nothing going on - just being lazy at home and trying to put together my application for a radiology program I want to get into.

Okay, I love that color.  :)
I love kitchen remodels.  (My dad is a general contractor who specializes in kitchen and bath remodels.)  I am in LOVE with my MIL's.

We have 1 picture from his mom's camera.  Sigh.  No matter how much you think you are taking in the day, it isn't enough.  Also, I realized that I am a ridiculous perfectionist.  I wouldn't have changed anything for that day.  I was blissfully unaware of anything going wrong.  And nothing major did go wrong.  However, make sure that there is someone ensuring that your dress is right for pictures.  Mine, apparently, had a tendency to bunch up a little bit.  I wish someone would have fixed it for pictures now and then.  (I think I have entered the 'wow-the-wedding-is-really-over-let-down stage.' Now that I got the pictures there is nothing else left to wait on for the wedding.  It is a weird, weird feeling.)

Ohh i love the kitchen color NQB, my living room is that color.

Mutley, post-wedding scrapbook/photo album? that seems pretty fun to me.

On the bright side, a man at the grocery store told me how nice it was to see a woman in a skirt, how sexy I looked, called me honey, and proceeded to follow me around the store during my lunch break today. Gag.

Oh, and WHY do we have so many pictures of the one branch of the family we wish we didn't have to invite?  Seriously?!

FWIW my sister only has one photo of our whole family from her wedding.  For that very reason she has promised to follow around my photog and make sure he gets all the right family pics on my wedding.  I think most of them just take photos they think would look good regardless of who's in them (other than the B&G of course).

    I'm around!!

And I'm bored/at work.  There is nothing to report except that I'm going on day 9 of a 11 day week and I'm starting to get really really tired.

How lovely...I hate that, talk about uncomfortable.
NQB - Love the color! My kitchen is almost the same shade!
Mutley - The same thing happened at my sister's wedding but just opposite...there are barely any pictures of her husbands family and a ton of ours (which was fine by my sis!) and I think that alot of that had to do with my mom making sure that the photographer was getting all of the pictures she wanted!

Probably. We want photo journalistic pics but want to make sure we have a lot of our parents and siblings.  Our photog told me to designate someone with a list.  It doesn't sound like it would work but I sort of want to say "can you get a really good candid photo of these people?"  Heck for all I know no one is even coming to our wedding since no one has acknowledged my Save the Dates we sent out except for like one of my friends.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cry.gif" border="0" alt="Cry" title="Cry" />

I do not blame the photographers.  I blame his family that jetted after the ceremony.  My family stayed for formal pics, his family went off to the reception.  The photographers would have no way of knowing who was who.

It is what it is.  I am just laughing that there are so many pics of them, when we spend an entire night figuring out how to not invite them.  They are his cousins, but in their own universe.

3 sisters - all in their mid-30s and single
Sister #1 - Since she hates men but wants children, she decides to go to a sperm bank to get pregnant.  Enter her DS.  A couple years later, she wants another.  Uses the same sperm.  Enter her DD.

Sister #2 - Also hates men.  Recently has decided that she too wants to use a sperm bank.  She says "Well, I want to use the same sperm donor so that our kids are related."

So the kids will be half-siblings AND cousins.

We are all hoping she doesn't go through with it.

    Somehow, sister #3 is normal.

Ugh.  Seriously!  We were hoping they would not come.  They are seriously anti-social.  I know that is shocking news.  When I met them, they shunned me.  Ignored me for an entire family weekend.  We contemplated not inviting the kids as a way of dissuading the adults from coming.  (Hoping that just his aunt, uncle and the 1 cousin would come.)  In the end, we were polite and invited them all.  Not only did they all come from AZ, but they insisted that DH's dad let them stay at his beach house the week prior.

    Not PC text following.
I have biracial cousins.  I have biracial friends.  I love them.    Heck, I dated a black guy for 3 years.
However, I find something odd about choosing to have biracial kids with a sperm donor (yes, sister #1.)  It is one thing to fall in love and have kids.  It is quite another to bring even more confusion into your kids' lives.

Wait....did the sister realize that their kids would already be related? Surprised

I have no idea.  What she said leads me to believe that no, she did not grasp that concept.

Luckily, they live in AZ, so we don't have to see them often.  (Maybe once a year, but probably not even that.  I met them at a memorial service weekend and then again at our wedding.)

I do hope that I brought you some entertainment.

Maybe there's something else in their family tree that we don't know that would cause her children to not be related to her sister's children.
