Rock n Roll costume ideas

Hi ladies!

My dance school is having another show in a few weeks. It has a Rock n Roll/Vampire theme, and in addition to dancing, I'm singing Pat Benatar's "Heartbreaker."

When I was in Vegas, I saw a great '80s cover band, so I'm stealing a little of their look, but I need some help finalizing my outfit.

I bought these leggings that I'll wear with black ankle boots.

I also bought a yard of red sequined fabric to make a top. I'm just not sure what kind of top to make. Should it be one shoulder, or a tank top, or something loose with a belt around the waist?

I'd love to see some ideas. Nothing too elaborate, because I'm not a great seamstress and still have one more tutu to make for my ballet class.

Thank you!

I think something like this would be awesome. W/ those leggings and boots... definitely.

I agree with mymissingpuzzle a loose top with a belt around the waist would look really nice with the leggings and boots.  Smile

What a fun recital! I think you could make this top pretty easily - and then you get the one shoulder look and the belt all in one: http://www.icie2.com/teal-printed-off-shoulder-belted-sexy-tunic-top/534839/product/

I don't either, really. But if I'm already dancing around in a tutu, then why not?

Thanks for the ideas, ladies! I have something similar to what mymissingpuzzle posted, so I can use it as a pattern. Then I can see how it looks with or without a belt.

I have leggings like those! :) I wear them with my python print pumps and a cream off the should sweater to go out in winter time! The synthetic material make them very warm! lol

For the show though, I would do a black tank and then make a off the shoulder looses top and belt it... Make sure you wear dark red lipstick and bangles and hoop earrings!
