Have a Pity Party with me?

You know you want too!  Anyways I got left at home because I am sick (I got worse today :(  Had trouble breathing again and now I have this nasty cough and I am losing my voice.... gah), so I am being all mopey and trying to be productive with homework.  Anyone want to hang out and cheer me up?  Tell me about your weekend?

EDIT: Since everyone else has something about the weekend going on tell me about your favorite fall/winter tradition and why I should adopt that tradition!

Awww - I was hoping you were feeling better by now!  Did you go to the doc?

Also, maybe I missed a post . . . how was the venue you checked out yesterday?  Thumbs up or down?

Don't be mopey . . . the board's been a bit active tonight so there's posts to catch up on!  I'm just hanging here at the house with Hogan.  BF is out of town until late Tuesday night.  Kind of lonely but thank goodness for the pup!

Meg I haven't gone yet.  I felt way better yesterday, just a little sore throat but today it got way worse. :(  I don't know if the doctor can do anything.  My dad just finished the sickness and he had it for two weeks.  I am not sure there is anything they can do :/

YES!  I did post but I don't think anyone saw it except Beth!  We went ahead a booked it!  YAYAA!  I am so happy and so relieve.  We are close and I was starting to really stress out.  It's so pretty.  It was really cute, after we had said yes FI and I slow danced in the middle of the floor under the disco ball.  In my head I was like "SQUEEEE, 7 months till we get to do this for real!"  It was cute and romantic :)

I am glad you have him.  I have no one maybe that is why I am feeling so mopey.  But I will try my best.  It does make me feel better that you are here. :)

Unfortunately, I no longer have any fall/holiday traditions. I used to, but my family sucks and ruined them.

When BF and I get our own bigger space - we will do holidays at our home by ourselves.... Cuz we can't take our families on holidays much longer...they aren't any fun and are more stress than they are worth.

ETA: Okay, so I forgot - BF & I do have one tradition. We set a limit on our Christmas gifts to each other (this year is $25) and we have a contest to see who does the best with that amount, by being creative. :) It's a lot of fun. It's neat to see what he comes up with and what I can pull out as well.

Ry I like that traditions.  Maybe we will do that this year because we have agreed to have like $30 as our spending limit this year.  :)  Good idea!!

Raven, thanks for the update & I'm so happy you guys found someplace!!  I love that you guys danced together there too.  I really didn't used to be such a cheesy romantic but ever since I met BF a few years ago, I COMPLETELY cheese out - so I love stuff like that.

I wonder if you've got the flu?  I just got my shot & am hoping I don't get sick!  Usually I get the flu before the the shot but I haven't been sick yet this season so I've got everything crossed that I stay well!  Plus, it sounds like what's going around is pretty miserable.

And Irish, I LOVE that new tradition!!  We were planning to buy kayaks this year for Christmas but I want to put it off and do something MUCH less expensive.  So maybe we'll use that idea?  I would really love an engagement pony for Christmas but I'm not holding my breath!!  *sigh*  Just an idea.  Plus, I don't think a pony would fit our budget either.

Meg, thank you!  We are so excited!  I have always been a cheesy romantic, it bothers a lot of people but I can't help it.  :)

I don't think I have the flu?  If I do it’s like no flu I have ever had before.  Maybe I should go to the doctor....

I am sorry Meg that a E pony isn't in the budget.  *hugs* It will be someday!

Well it could be in the budget . . . I would just rather not spend money on kayaks when there are sparkly items on the shopping list!!  Hahahaa!!

How long have you been sick?  I think the deal is that if you're sick for more than a few days and your symptoms aren't improving, you should go.  My friend caught something similar when her kids had it and didn't go to the doc.  It ended up getting worse so by the time she DID go to the doc, it had moved into her lungs as bronchitis.  No bueno.  I'm not a fan of going to the doctor but sometimes you just have to.

That happened to me. I waited WAY too long to go to the doctor so by the time I did I felt like I was dying. That's what happened with my gallbladder too. Now I'm better about going to the doctor sooner rather than later. Usually if I'm sick for more than 5-7 days I go to the doctor.

I wish BF and I had holiday traditions but we never spend the holidays together so we probably won't until we are married.

    I love traditions!

My FI and have a bunch of fall and winter ones. In the fall, we make sure to go to this farm where you take a hay ride, pick pumpkins, berries, apples, peaches, flowers and vegetables. It is so much fun :) We then use the fruits to make a dessert like apple crumble or peach tarts. In the winter, we love to go to Rockefeller center in NYC and see the huge lit up christmas tree, go iceskating, look at the store windows that they dress up for christmas and see the Christmas spectacular.

We have so many and we can't wait to continue these traditions when we have children :)

Meg- I have been sick since Thursday so 4 days?  I'll think about it. I can't afford to be sick like that!

Beth I am so sorry you got that sick.  I tend to drag my feet when it comes to going to the doctor going too.  Why don't you guys spend the holidays together?

MMP- Haha I live in one of those areas where people come to do that.  It has kind of ruined it for me. (I hate tourists who drive 5 miles an hour!  Come on people let’s move!)  But I am grateful that I live in a beautiful area :)  Those sound like a lot of fun.  I am really looking forward to making my own traditions with FI as a family :)

I always go home (to Idaho) for the holidays. So we each spend the holidays with our own parents. I don't know what we are going to do when we get married. I did spend Thanksgiving with his family last year but I missed my own family Thanksgiving so I'm going home for Thanksgiving this year. My family has TONS of holiday traditions that I absolutely love (my favorite being our annual Christmas tree hunt!). BF's family is less into the holidays. I'm excited to do a lot of those traditions with him once we are married.

MMP- That is a good question, most likely a blend of what we do with our own families now.  For Fall I want to make goodies (pies, canning, and cookies) and wreathes (I don't do this now).  Christmas I would like to String popcorn and cranberries (I haven't done this in forever), open stocking Christmas eve.  IDK it will be interesting for us because Christmas is also on the 7th of January for me so it will be interesting to see how we incorporate that into our traditions.  Hopefully we can talk about this in Premarital counseling :)

Beth- Ah ok.  Maybe you could do every other holiday?  That is what we are thinking about doing.

I love Christmas traditions. It is a very special time for Sergio and I because that is when we fell in love. When do you start premarital counseling?

I love Christmas too!  It is so full of traditions and good times for me (ginger bread houses and cookies!  Oh NOM NOM!)  I spend the whole year looking forward to it :)  We should start soon; our priest is just waiting to receive an email with all the information that he is going to use for us so hopefully in the next couple of weeks :)  I am looking forward to it.  Is that odd?

Oh yea gingerbread houses! We do that too.. completely forgot. Those are so much fun to make. Oh and we like to watch those short Christmas movies like Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is coming to town. Also all the other movies like The Santa Clause, Fred Claus, The Polar Express, Charlie Brown Christmas (while drinking hot cocoa) mmm :)

I don't think that's odd.. though I have no idea what premarital counseling entails. Sergio and I aren't doing that. Is it fun?

FI likes to watch those movies too!  He loves them it is so cute.  I like to watch White Christmas and fun old Christmas movies like that :)

Generally PC entails talking about different life decisions, kids and how to raise them, money, sex, and other things I do believe.  Though take this with a grain of salt as I haven't started yet. It is suppose to give your marriage the best shot before it starts by making sure you have those little or big differences worked out before hand.
