Don't do it, take a small serving of what you really want instead.  Binge eating only ends with stomach pain.

Think about how much work you would have to do to get those calories that you are thinking about eating off. Totally not worth it. Maybe chew on some ice instead if it is a boredom thing?

Coco, I was just about to suggest chugging some water! I also recommend chewing some sugar-free gum and doing some physical activity. I always feel drastically less prone to overeating when I'm going to ballet class frequently. (I know there's a scientific reason for that, just can't think of it now.) I also second Katy's idea of just eating a small portion of whatever you're craving. Totally depriving yourself will just make you feel worse!

Whenever I'm completely starving after work, I have a rule. I have to eat at least one healthy thing before I can decide to eat anything else. Usually a banana or a granola bar. Once I've eaten that I'm not STARVING anymore, and I'm usually okay with just eating another banana or a yogurt or something besides a giant burger with fries and 3 cupcakes, and a candy bar, which is what I originally wanted only because I was starving.

Remind yourself that the satisfaction of a binge lasts only a few minutes, and the guilt lasts much longer.  You'll be so proud of yourself if you fight through it.

i'm not hungry at all, just to clarify.  but when i get stressed or sad i eat.  and i feel it coming on really strong.

i'm thinking about taking my little dog for a quick walk after work.  should i make her wear her coat?  it's in the forties here (degrees F).

    That coat is adorable!

Come on, you know you don't really want to eat.  That's why you posted this.  Have a cup of tea or some Crystal Lite, and you'll feel like you had a bit of a treat.

And exercise is a WAY better way to deal with stress.  Take that doggie for a nice long walk!  And yeah, put that coat on her if she can tolerate it.
