Food Poisoning

So I spent 10 days in Venezuela and was pretty ok with the food and water situation. I was back in St. Louis for 24 hours and managed to give Daniel and I both food poisoning. Luckily I'm not vommiting... But the nauseu and "other symptoms" are pretty bad and since today is my first day back to work after 7 day gone, I have to be here. So here I sit at work sipping clear liquids and munching toast. I think I will have soup for lunch.

If anyone has any suggestion to help feel better I would greatly appreciate them!

The only thing I can think of is the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.

    Feel better!

Maybe some probiotics? I've heard that can help when you've been traveling. Yogurt or the kind you can buy in pill format.

    And ditto on bananas.

    Feel better!

Thanks! I forgot about the brat diet... I'll be making rice for dinner with chicken broth and a banana for each of us tonight.

Liv, I made nachos last night for dinner and I bought some of the topping from the salad bar at the grocery store... I am pretty sure that's what did it, but I made the Mexican chilli in the crackpot and had added more liquids for a soup tonight. I am throwing it out on the chance the meat in the chili was bad. I am a pretty darn good cook and pride myself on making delicious and healthy food for Daniel and myself. So I am pretty embarrassed by the whole situation.

I'm sooo sorry-food poisioning is the worst. Just so you know, it can take up to 48 hours for symptoms to start after you ate whatever caused them, so it might not be what you ate last night. I know that makes it harder to narrow it down, but it might not be anything you bought or prepared after all!

Ouch, when I had food poisoning I just waited it out.  The doctor said there wasn't much else to be done besides lots of fluids and rest.  I hope you feel better soon!
