Some of you might know that I grew up in a small town about 35 mins from where I live now. I'm still very connected to my hometown, and as much as I dislike it as a place, the people mean a lot to me.
This fall/winter have been hard on everyone. There's been a lot of sickness and death. Every time I call my Mom (which is often), there's more bad news from home. Most recently, she told me that a woman who's been battling cancer for 10 years has been given 2 weeks to live. This lady is in her mid-40s and has 2 teenage daughters; her kids and my sisters used to be good friends. The family was kind of friends with my family, and was part of similar social circles. It started with breast cancer, and just kept spreading, but she was always able to beat it. A week ago she was moved to a hospice centre, and on Friday, her family said goodbye and she was placed in a medically induced coma. I guess we knew this day would come, but now that it's here it's really awful.
Anyway, I could use some positive knottie vibes, and I know my whole hometown could as well. We need something good to happen for a change. Thanks ladies.
