Mine said "Did you do my homework?"

Cruise- those are the best test to wake up to. No matter how hateful you are in the am, I think seeing what your BF said would melt any heart of stone.

It would definitely melt mine. Unfortunately, my BF is not a morning person so he's not likely to say something pleasant. Also, he doesn't think ahead very much, so not likely to do things ahead of time either. I guess I'm out of luck :)

Seriously though, such a sweet thing to wake up to.

Oh my, that is so sweet!  I love it when I get texts like that too.  Somehow they know just how to brighten your day when you least expect it.  My BF sent me flowers at work yesterday and I was totally surprised.  It really is simple things like those that make you smile for the rest of the day Smile

When I stay over FI's, he wakes up to "KYLE! GET UP!!! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR WORK!!!" I honestly don't know how he wakes up on time without me.

The worst bed farts are then ones that linger under the  blankets. You forget about them and then when you roll over, it poofs out of the blanket and about kills you.

Ah, I remember those days.... When we were LDR, he used to send those sweet things to me.  Now it's "Please hit snooze just one more time!"  But, no matter what, whether we're both running late and the dog is acting crazy in the morning, we ALWAYS kiss each other good bye and be sure we tell each other that we love one another.  I feel this is a must because you just never know what will happen when you leave the house in the morning.  I know it sounds morbid, but I always think "What if I didn't say I love you and something happens to him or I..."

Jeter - That was actually the advice that someone gave at the wedding I was in on the weekend. They said, 'you never know what will happen over the course of a day, so don't let an opportunity to say I love you pass you by." I think it was one of the best pieces of advice that night.

It goes along with the advice I was given over the weekend too - about never letting your pride get in the way.  Even if you just had an argument the night before or something and you're maybe still upset, ALWAYS say I love you because at the end of the day, that's what matters.  I know I'd feel really terrible if I was so full of pride and didn't tell him I loved him one morning and then something happened to him....

Yeah, we'll usually interrupt an argument just to remind ourselves that we love each other.  Even when we're angry, we'll say, "I love you".

I like that my guy gets up and goes running and workign out super early (5am or so).  Before, I'd get frustrated because my sleep would be interrupted 2-3 hours before it had to be, but he's become much more considerate - he'll hop out of bed right away and turn off the alarm and slip out of the room within 30 seconds so I can go back to sleep.  Then he comes home about 1.5 hours later, usually about 20-30 minutes before my alarm is supposed to go off, and will shower and come cuddle.  I've come to cherish those morning moments more than anything.  He's so affectionate and loving and happy to return home to me.  He wakes me up so sweetly and cuddles me and smiles at me with that look that says "I cherish you".  Melts my heart every day, which is why I'm happy to get up 20-30 minutes earlier!  We'll lay there for 5-10 minutes, depending on how busy his schedule is, just talking about our day and snuggling and then he'll leave for school and I'll get up to go running before work.

I definitely believe in the whole idea of saying I love you no matter what.  When we are fighting, every time we get off the phone, or before one of us leaves.  It makes for a funny thing sometimes when you want to hang up on him.  Uggghh Iloveyoubye. lol. Thank God I haven't had to do that in forever and we are way over that in our relationship.

He always sends me at least one sweet text a day that just melts my heart. Then it makes me feel bad cuz I never send those to him out of the blue like he does with me. I need to step up my game lol.

Aww, too cute. I love texts like that, but I very rarely get them (BF is simply not like that, which is perfectly OK too). This is the first morning in a long time that I've been so out of it I don't remember him coming into say goodbye and give me a kiss before he leaves. I don't hear him get up in the morning anymore, so he wakes me up then. I was so exhausted yesterday, I slept like a rock, and although I'm still tired, I do feel better today.

Awww... my guy has decided to come take me to lunch today!  Yay!!!!

You must understand - he has class 15 hours per week, he studies another 20-30 hours per week, he has a fitness routine that is another 15-20 hours per week, and he's the head of two student organizations which take another 15-20 hours per week, plus various other smaller responsibilities that add up to another 10+ hours per week minimum.  So he's busy 75 hours per week minimum, more often closer to 90 hours.  That doesn't even included basic personal chores or errands.  He gets up at 5am, goes to bed at 10pm (including Saturdays) and rarely gets a chance to do anything fun.  We've been focused on "quality vs. quantity" in our time together, since we obviously don't get much.  But we treasure the moments when we actually get to spend time together, and make sure to have plans and do something fun.

Add onto that the fact that he has no money.  He's carefully budgeted down to the last penny since everything is student loans, and there's not much of it.

So in summary, I don't see him much.  We live together, but there are often days when I don't even see him.  We don't eat out as it's too expensive, so we both usually brings leftovers for lunch.

When he spontaneously decides he wants to take the time to drive to my work to take me out to lunch, it's kind of a big deal!  This is a real treat!  YAY!!!!

Very sweet text.  Jeter (and everyone else who commented about it) - I agree to always saying I love You - sometimes I'll mix it up and answer the phone saying it - catches him off-guard, but then he'll do it to me sometime later in the week and it's kind of cute.  We've also taken the age-old advice of never going to be angry - just makes things worse in the morning - but we're really good about talking anything out that might upset us anyway.

I got an hour of talking to FI on the phone this morning when he got off work and usually I'm lucky if I can get 10-20 minutes out of him.

Cate - completely understand having no money thing - Fast Food is even a treat for us right now.  Enjoy your lunch!

    Lunch was great!

But I got made fun of for saying "I love you" every time we hang up.  My boyfriend called to say he had parked and I should come down to the lobby, and when we hung up said, "Okay, see you in a sec, love you."  And my colleague made fun of me that we say it at the end of every conversation.  So?  It makes me happy!
