Got a Favorite Appetizer

So, I've been tasked with bringing a fruit dish (um...fruit salad?), dinner rolls and an appetizer to Thanksgiving this year. Since i"m usually the host, I'm a little bummed this is all I get to bring. Who eats fruit salad on Thanksgiving??? Anyway...I'm totally stumped on my appetizer. I don't want to make something that requires an oven since it's not my house. Therefore I'm limited to the crock pot or something not heated. Any ideas? These are the other appetizers others are bringing:

Creamy chicken & green chili dip w/chips
Little smokies
Tortilla/cream cheese pinwheels

My aunt makes this cheesy crab dip in a crockpot that is sooooo good with tortilla chips or toasted pita slices...  Let me see if I can find a similar recipe online anywhere.

ETA:  This is basically it, but we add a couple handfulls of shredded cheese, either cheddar or a Mexican blend.  You can also add shrimp!

My mom always makes this fantastic dill dip.  If you want the recipe I could ask her for it for you.  :)  We normally do chips and dip and vegetables.

I just searched through Pinterest to see if there were some good ideas and got so so hungry.

BFs aunt makes pulled pork in her crock pot. It's always really popular and you could serve it on little fancy breads or crackers!

Oohh make bruschetta!! Soo easy and soo delicious!

My former roommate used to make a taco dip that was good, it was layers of bean chili, salsa, sour cream and cheddar cheese in a shallow baking pan (or anything you could make lasagna in) so that you could put a tortilla chip in and get the whole shebang. She could make it in less than 1/2 an hour and used to bring it everywhere. Nomm.

I vote buffalo chicken dip (made in the crockpot).

Full-fat version (towards the bottom under tips it has the crock pot directions)

I would go with the skinny version because I promise you it tastes just as good as the full-fat version. PROMISE!

Oh and Buffalo Chicken Dip is always a favorite for us!  I make mine layers and bake it in the oven (or melt in on the grill for tailgating).  I start with a layer of  reduced fat cream cheese, top with shredded chicken mixed with Franks buffalo wing sauce (I just eye ball it), then drizzle low fat ranch dressing instead of blue cheese and then a layer of cheese (2% shredded cheddar instead of full fat)...melt in oven and serve with tortilla chips.

Skyline Dip is also a staple app for Cincinnatians...cream cheese, skyline chili, cheese.  Onions can be added before the cheese if you like them.  Reduced fat cream cheese and cheese can be used for this as well.  Same cooking instructions as above.

My personal favorite apps are individual ones like bacon wrapped shrimp on toothpicks...shrimp cocktail shooters (1 shrimp with a little cocktail sauce in shot glasses).  Bruschetta is also always a good one!

Allusive, I think you should make that trifle that SKP posted or the cranberry salsa Mutley posted as your fruit dish. YUM!

And I vote for deviled eggs as your app b/c they're vegetarian and I'm biased. :)
