Happy Monday

Did everyone have a good weekend?

M and I built him a desk (from scratch!) and painted it, installed a ceiling fan, found out that there's no insulation above his room AND that they potentially have rats/mice in the attic, and replaced the fill pump on his toilet.  And then we ran 3 miles.  All in all, it was a very productive, although incredibly busy, weekend.

I should find out if I got the job I interviewed for on Thursday today, so HOPEFULLY I'll have good news later today.  And then M and I are going for a run again tonight since we have the 5K on Saturday.

What about everyone else?  Anything good planned for today?  What'd you get done this weekend?

Go you two. That is an impressive amount of productivity.

Fingers crossed for you and the outcome of your interview!

H and I visited our townhouse Sunday. It is sooo exciting standing in that structure and thinking about living there. I'm so ready to have more space, a new neighborhood, and to use all our wedding gifts.

Here is a pic of the kitchen again, with counters!

I need to start running again. Or yogaing. My old body is not a fan of sitting still so much. Maybe I'll start this week...
  • Good morning :)

That sounds like a very productive weekend. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

This weekend I drove down to NJ to bring bf back home :D I'm so glad he's back at last! I spent Saturday morning helping my parents get ready for a BBQ they were throwing, and started drinking with my brother at 2. We had a couple of friends over after the BBQ and went for a swim at midnight which was fun. Yesterday we packed the car up with all of bf's stuff and drove back up here. After doing the drive about 10 times in 3 months, it was nice to be able to nap during the ride.

It totally feels like the end of summer which I don't like at all.

Nothing really planned for today, except I need to watch Hunger Games, so I might do that tonight.

<div>That kitchen is totally drool worthy.  Seriously, I hope that if M and I get to that point, we can afford to have a house built and get married in the same year.  We watch too much House Hunters and HGTV, and now I'm picky.  House hunting in this area would make me stabby.</div>

  • I had a pretty good weekend.  Friday we relaxed played some board games, drank some wine, even BF drank a little and he never drinks.
Saturday we ran some errands and then at night we went to my sister's rehearsal dinner/party.  It was a lot more fun than I though.  It's always more fun when beer pong is involved. :-)
Sunday BF & I went to Great Adventure.  It was so much fun but pretty tiring. I finally went on Kinga Ka, that was pretty cool.

After work today I have a massage, I am beyond excited!!! I only have a 4 day work week since my sister's wedding is on Friday.  I'm stressing over my MOH speech, I have no idea of what to say...

Pee k keep us posted on the job I hope you hear good news soon.  What kind of job was it for?

  • Thank you both! We selected a lot of contemporary options... Not everyone's favorite stuff, but I'm real excited for it.

House hunting got depressing really quickly when we saw what our money could get us as we tried to move closer to DC. So we ended up going further away from the city to be able to select a lot more for the same amount of money.

Danser- Have you drafted anything for your speech? I know my MOHs were super stressed about their speeches and they both came out sooo sweet. (And very different as one is my best friend from college and the other was my younger sister).
  • Jen - I haven't drafted anything yet.  I don't even know where to begin, I want it to be really special and sweet because she's my sister and I'm blanking.  I also don't want to ramble on for 5 minutes. I want it to be short, but meaningful.

  • Jen- I am so jealous of that kitchen!

I had a pretty busy Saturday.  Saturday morning I woke up early to run a 5k.  I wasn't really planning on doing one but FI's mom and sister were decided to walk the 5k so I decided to run it.  Then FI and I went dirt biking/atv-ing.  FI thinks his gear box is messed up so we might not be riding much more this summer.  And if it is not cheap/practical to fix, then FI will have to get a new dirt bike.  Which is sort of planned because his bike is really old, but not really great timing what with saving for our wedding.

After we got back from the dirt ride, we took his sport bike out for a ride.  Yep, we really love motorcycles.   Dinner was food and beer at our favorite brewery.  It was packed, so we ended up sharing a table with a couple of older gentlemen.  We had a pretty nice chat with them.

Since we couldn't ride Sunday, we just packed up and headed home.

I'm still recovering from me weekend. I had my girlfriend's bachelorette party, while FI went to the guy's bachelor party. We girls went up to a cabin in the mountains that the bride's sister owns. We had a blast: cocktails and apps, cooked dinner and basically played drinking games and harassed the bride-to-be until about 2am. Everyone crashed there.

They guys went go-karting and then headed to a Rockie's game (baseball). Turns out they hit way too many bars before and after all their events. The groom, his brother and one of his future brother's-in-law all got sick....my FI and another future brother-in-law wound up in the drunk tank until about noon the next day.

As you can imagine we spent the afternoon in bed yesterday and we're still hurting this morning. AND...neither of us have much of a desire to have our own b-parties in 10 months or so right now. haha!

I'm going bowling tonight & I'm not sure how I'm going to hold the ball let alone actually bowl with it.

Me too! I wish I had more fun pics of the other rooms, they are cool too. Like we have floor to ceiling tile in the master bathroom. And a glass door. I looove me some glass shower doors. (Cleaning shower curtains just does. not. happen.)
  • Pee k - Awesome productive weekend! I hope you hear back on that job, fingers crossed! Great job on all the running, too! I put some effort into taking it up back in July, and it failed. I really loved running, I just couldn't get myself motivated. I start a new job next week, so hopefully with that will come a new routine and running will be a part of it. We'll see.

Jen - I'd like to pick up your kitchen and plunk it down in ours, k? It's similarly laid out to ours, it would totally fit! I want a new kitchen so bad, but FI gets all, "it'll overvalue the house, and the one we have is fine", and then I roll my eyes and walk away (not really on that last part).

We were away at the cottage for the weekend, where FI was working on our out-building and I was...not doing much at all. I feel bad for FI because he's tired of working up there, but the work has to be done and my Dad can't do it. Also, this is my last week of freedom before I start working full-time for the rest of my life, although I do still have to go into my part-time gigs this week. Gulp.

  • Saturday was a protest day. Tyler was supposed to go, but he was on call and had to stay home. At the end of the protest, we realized we had none of the childish-food-loving gamer boys with us, so we had lunch at a fancy pan-Asian bistro near one of the universities in town. It was very om nom nom.

Yesterday, I got to call the cops on some hipsters. They were apparently filming a music video at the end of our street and we could hear the music for hours even though our windows and doors were shut. It was baaaad hipster music too. It was very much a major noise violation -- the rule in Nashville is that you shouldn't be able to hear it from fifty feet away, and we're a good quarter mile from where they were playing. It was insane.
