Best Birthday Ever! AW

So, not only am I engaged :) But today is my bday! My boss brought me a dozen long stem pink roses and we had Chipotle for lunch. And when I went to pick up lunch, I got the very first spot! :) And I just got a call from the St. Louis Zoo and they have Sept. 22nd available!!!!!! My mom and I are going this week to check everything out and put down the deposit. FI (ahhh) said he trusts our judgement and will check it out later.


THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yay!  Happy Birthday!

    H and I looked into getting married at the Phoenix Zoo, but we wanted November and they start their Zoo Lights at that time, so they charged more.  Boo.  But I think that would be so much fun!

    Haha, I think it's probably a real number because that's how I was too and I still do. I know Tiger says she still does even after being engaged for a while now, lol. I don't think it ever gets old! : )

    Oh, and we booked our venue with me taking my FI's word for it (I'd never been there), and I went and saw it the other week and loved it, so I'm sure he'll be ok with it too, lol.

    Holy crap, you didn't wait a single second to get on the planning did you, woman?!  I know some ladies on here are big on chilling and taking some time to just enjoy being engaged, but if you are both on board to jump right in it's okay, I suppose.  I know I got told to chill by some people when BF(exFI) and I were just  talking possibilities about a week after he proposed. 

    Regardless, it sounds like your day is going great...that is awesome!  Happy Birthday to you, CCO!

    Yeah, I guess it could be considered early to start planning, but we talked about a wedding next fall so FI agreed it was a good idea to call today just to see if it was available at all and it was. Once we book the venue I plan to relax and maybe do a little DIY until it is crnuch time. :)

    I agree that the venue was the most stressful part. It's such a relief that I know it's booked. Everything else can fall into place, but for me at least, it all started with the venue! And I'm still so fricken happy for you!! I've been waiting for this and trying not to be like all those people who keep asking when it's gonna happen, lol. I can't wait to see what kind of wedding you plan for yourself, being an event planner and all! : )

    I'm pretty excited! I have many elaborate ideas I would love to do, but I have a budget and my mom used the budget planner tool on here and I had $800 after everything... Hmmm, guess I'll need to find less expensive and more DIY options! I will keep everyone posted though! :)

    Yeah, it's just insane how quickly it all adds up, but you may have ideas for some things and they'll end up cheaper or, like you said, you can find ways to DIY. Either way, I'm sure you'll have a blast.

    I forgot to ask: Was your FI nervous at all when he asked? I would think it'd be torture having to wait until Thanksgiving was over and seeing everyone before finally being able to do it, lol.

    He was apparently a wreck... He said he was shaking for the last 100miles of the drive, and then I made him go shopping with me for another hour before we got home.
