AW: Dresses, dresses, & more dresses (PIP HEAVY)

I went dress shopping the past two weekends.  I swear I was not unhappy in any of these pictures, I was just really nervous & apparently they comes off as "miserable biitch" on my face.

There are a lot of pictures!  You've been warned!

Dress 1 - I don't care much for ruffles on me.

Dress 2 - Pretty dress but not the one for me.

Dress 3 - While I can appreciate how small my waist is in this dress, I hate the separate of the fabric or whatever you want to call it.

Dress 4 - This dress was beautiful in person, I'm not a poofy dress kinda gal though.

Dress 5 - I really loved most of this dress, until you get to the bottom which looks unfinished to me.

Dress 6 - I *LOVED* this dress. But I need a little less cleavage.  I realized I should be looking for a modified sweetheart.

Dress 7 - My boobs are too big & this dress had flower things on the skirt which is NMS.

Dress 8 - Another one where I appreciate the appearance of my tiny waist but not a fan of the dress as a whole.

Dress 9 - I really loved this dress on the hanger but didn't love the waist part when I put it on.

Dress 10 - This is brighter than the others because I think someone was taking a picture with a flash camera at the same time.  I loved this dress a lot. After wearing it for a few minutes though I wasn't feeling like it's my dress. After seeing it again now though I'm wondering if I should go back & try it. The top and the bottom of the skirt had really beautiful lace scalloping which I love. Hmm....

Dress 11 - Love lace dresses but wasn't crazy about this one.  I believe there were little beads all over it & like clear, shiny sequins things that I didn't love.

Dress 12 - I love the top & belt of this dress but wasn't crazy over the skirt. I'm loving it on me again now though so maybe this is another one I should take another look at... Double hmm....

Dress 13 - I really fell in love with this dress. I am probably going back to this shop to try it on again this weekend.

  • You look gorgeous in all of them but I really love #10 on you. #13 is really pretty too but more traditional. I really don't think you could go wrong with any of them though.

  • I love #13 on you the most!

ITA with the others. I love 10 and 13 on you. And I really like 6, but you're right about the neckline. Any chance they can modify it?

That's a lot of dresses, but agree that #13 looks great on you, gorgeous!  And I love how happy you look.  LOVE!
  • I officially vote for #13 :-)

  • My official vote is for 13, but I love 12 as well.

U/O: I hate #10.  I think the pickups draw the eye so far down on you that it takes away from your figure, which you would normally fix with a belt.  However, because of the lace and the pickups, you can't do that with this dress.

  • I like #10 best, especially since it looks like the paparazzi were after you.

Hm...You do look really happy in 13 though...

    I like dresses.
  • I like 10 and 13.

  • I vote 10 and 12.

  • I like 2, 10, and 13.

I think 2 is worth another try. I think you look amazing in it.

10 -- I see Peek's point in that I think the pickups draw the eye, but to my eye, this makes you look super tall and thin.

13 --  I like, but I think I'd like even more if it had more of a sweetheart necklines, and was more fitted in your hips/thighs and flared out more at the bottom. AND I think a darker colored sash would be perfect. :)

  • You look beautiful in all of them!  My favorites were 12 and 13!  How fun, let us know what you decide!

  • I really really love #6 on you. And I guess I'm a boob person, cause I don't think it's too much cleavage. BUT it's obviously got to be what you are comfortable with. Could they modify the top? I think they are all lovely on you. I think whatever you choose you are going to be a knock out!

Thanks so much ladies!  I'm glad so many of you like 13, that was my favorite this weekend. Every time I look at 6, though, I love it even more. I really think I need to try it one more time to be sure.

Desert: I'm hoping to stop in the store on Saturday & see about making 13 more sweetheart. Not a huge dip, something small just so it isn't so straight.

Bean: You sound like my mama with the "they all look lovely" hahahaha :)

[QUOTE]I'm sure giving your more dresses to look at might only serve to overwhelm at this point, but I thought of these few styles, based on what you're saying and what would show off that great figure! <a href="http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/31" rel="nofollow">http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/31</a> Not sure it's a direct link, but style 2072.   I wish I could see it directly from the front, because I can't tell how deep that sweetheart neckline would be. <a href="http://enzoani.com/2012.html" rel="nofollow">http://enzoani.com/2012.html</a> Gertrude.  Great name for a dress. I have no idea what your budget looks like, or even what these cost.  Just thought of you in them!

<div>Thanks Polo!  I'm totally up to suggestions.  I might take a ride over to the bridal shop near my house by myself sometime this week & see how it goes when I have no opinions but my own for once :)</div><div>
</div><div>The first dress you posted is a little too frilly for me.  </div><div>
</div><div>The second is absolutely beautiful except for the shape, I need a little more space in the leg area for dancing. Mermaids didn't work for me. </div>

[QUOTE]The link on Enzoani doesn't go right to Gertrude, you have to forward click the arrow like, 4 or 5 dresses.  Gerty is an A-line.    :) I like the idea of going solo, just to see if that makes a difference.  The thing for you, in my opinion, is that you do have some time.  So while I wouldn't suggest trying on hundreds of dresses, I don't think you have to feel pressured just yet to pick on "the one". And for what it's worth, I did not have any kind of "aha" moment when I picked my dress.  And while I love it and I'm excited about it, I think I might have been happy in a few different dresses. It's different for everybody!

  • I'm totally the odd man out on this, but I love dress one on you! I think what I like most about it is the way it fits your bust. (That sounds dirty). It fits you really well.

I think if you had more of a bust like dress one on dress thirteen it would be the perfect dress.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: AW: Dresses, dresses, & more dresses (PIP HEAVY) : I don't think it's silly at ALL to hope for that, but you may drive yourself crazy if you keep thinking there could be something better out there.  One of the best pieces of advice I got was, once you do find the dress and put down money, don't look anymore.  Another great piece of advice I got from a friend was this -  she said that on your wedding day, no matter what, you are going to wake up feeling like the most beautiful, special person in the world.  And you will just feel like, invincable (sp?).  I know you want it to be the perfect dress, but as you can see, several PP think you look amazeballs in quite a few options!   What a bummer to be soooo gorgeous and have such a great figure and killer rack that you can pull off so many dresses!  :)  You will find one that makes you happy, I'm sure of it.  But it seems like you aren't quite ready to pull the trigger, so I like the idea of going back and trying on the ones you liked again, and maybe checking out another salon on your own.  And I can't speak for everyone, but I never tire of a) looking at dress pictures and b) giving my opinion.  So post and AW away!

Don't be scared of making a decision, seriously you will look stunning in whichever dress you choose.

  • First of all, they all look great on you!  I love 10 and 13.  I think that you are glowing in number 13 though.  You can see it in you face.  Whatever dress you decide on will be gorgeous, you look fantastic in all the dresses.

  • I think you look great in all of them, but I really like #13 and #1, though I think if number one had a drop waist and softer ruffles it would look better on you (I think since you have a little waist you should show it off!). I actually had to do a double take a 12 and 13, for a moment I thought they were the same dress!

In defense of number one, I love the ruffled look, but like you, I don't think I'd like ruffles on me.

    Thanks again everyone!

I just had a really shitty day & it was nice to pop in here & get a bit of a confidence boost :)

I will obviously keep you posted on what I end up doing (whether you like it or not Tongue Out).

  • I love dress 8 and 2 on you.  However I think you should keep looking because in my limited experience when you try the right dress on you just know.

  • I love 12 and 13 the MOSTEST!!  10 is good but I'm not a pick-ups fan.  And I still love 6 too but you shouldn't go with it if you aren't comfortable with the cleavage thing.

Um - and I STILL vote that you have the best rack.  Hands down.

Hey!  I know I am late to the party here, but I just wanted to say you look gorgeous!  Even though it is not your style, I really liked #2 on you.  Also, you do look lit up in #13.

While you don't want to drive yourself mad finding the perfect dress, it doesn't hurt to search a little more and see if anything stands out.  Sometimes it takes someone pointing out that you just carry yourself different in a particular dress, that even if you aren't aware, you really have found something special!  I hope you have a good friend or family member that knows your style to help give you that little nudge when you are being overwhelmed by tulle, or satin, or silk!   Best of luck on your search!
