This is going to sound like an odd start to a funny story, but...most of you know about my aunt Linda passing away about two weeks ago. Her funeral was the Friday before last at about 2:30 in the afternoon.
My aunt Teresa, who is my dad's sister (my aunt who died is my mom's sister), was close to Linda, and she and my uncle and my 24 year old cousin Matt were all going to attend the funeral. Teresa is getting ready and realizes she hasn't had anything to eat all day. She looks in the fridge for something to grab, and sees some yummy looking chocolate cupcake type things. She grabs one, eats it, and continues getting ready.
Fast forward a few moments, and my aunt is starting to feel funny. She has tunnel vision and everything sounds far away. She tells my uncle she isn't sure what's wrong, but that he should drive to the funeral, and possibly take her to the emergency room if she gets any worse.
They all pile in the car, and she mentions eating the cupcake. My cousin Matt looks at her in horror, and says, "Mom, tell me you did not eat the entire thing. They're pot cupcakes. Even my friends and I don't eat a whole one at a time!"
She ate the whole thing.
My poor aunt spent her good friend's funeral high as a freakin kite. She told my mom that twice she panicked and thought to herself, "Oh my God did I put on clothes?" And had to sneak glances at herself to make sure she had on shoes, pants, and a shirt.
I nearly died when my mom told me this today. We had a good laugh about it, and I just had to share!
