So, we have a photographer! We met with them on Tuesday night and really liked them. I don't LOVE their reception photos, but the pre-wedding and ceremony pictures are the most important to me anyway, so I'm not worrying about it. ETA: Am I the only one that gets a laugh out of couples that have similar names to celebrity couples? We have friends whose names are Spencer & Heidi and I feel bad for them!

I think you made a great choice Tiger! As far as the reception pics go, I don't think they're bad. It's hard to get good "candid" shots in an environment that is so crowded and busy. If the pre-wedding & ceremony pics are most important to you, than I think you made a smart decision!

That's awesome! It's kind of the same situation with who we're looking at for our photographer. They're pre wedding and posed shots are incredible but the reception shots are just "so-so". But like you said, the other ones are more important to me. Plus we really like the two women who do it, they did FI's aunt's wedding.

I agree with you Tiger on reception photos being less important. Depending on your package that's most likely your least amount of time.

And yeah, reception pics are HARD... I used to shoot as a 2nd shooter. Reception was the most fun and least stressful to shoot, but people are all over the place and it can be so fast paced. We used to get a TON of really unflattering photos due to crazy dancing faces and such, haha.
