I'm sorry if I missed any update thread that you may have done, but how is everything going? I remember a while back you were going through a lot of stuff and seemed uber stressed. I hope things are improving!

Heyy!  Things are going well.  I decided to take a leave of absence from law school.  Over the course of the last year I developed serious doubts about whether or not I'd like to ultimately practice law...and I can't justify spending so much time, energy, sanity, etc. in an education I'm not positive I'll use.

So, I'm taking time off, clearing my head, and reassessing things.  I work full-time as a waitress and am saving up for the wedding.  It's mindless work, which pays well, which is exactly what I need right now.

The wedding planning is going ok.  We have a venue and a caterer.  I have a dress.  The rest is still a work in progress.

Emotionally, I'm doing ok.  I'm a little sad/disappointed/ashamed about not returning to school, but the logical part of my brain knows I made the right choice.  I had my a$$ handed to me last year and I needed a break.  And I've never given myself a break.  So it was time.  It's emotionally tough, but I'm trying not to let myself get too depressed about it.

Other than that, I miss you girls.  I peek my head in from time to time.  Hopefully my schedule will get more regular soon so I can chat more often.

Thanks for the update, I've been wondering how you're doing.

Like Elle said, I hope having this break will help you decide what needs to happen to make sure you're happy with your life. It takes a lot of strength to walk away from something that isn't making you happy, but I'm glad at least logically you know you've made the right choice. The emotions will back it soon enough. *hugs*

How do you like working as a waitress, I mean, besides it being mindless? I think I would find it super stressful!

Short term + money isn't so bad.
