Freaking out - Talk me down

The bridal shower I have been talking about endlessly is happening on Sunday. Everything is looking pretty good for it, but I am still freaking out.

This week, I have to make the food that I am bringing (pumpkin muffins, a few quiches, and butternut squash soup), finish the pictures that will be decorations, finalize their present, and finish getting everything together for the games. It's a lot, but I can do it, and I have a plan in place for when everything will get done. I also have all day Saturday free of distractions (BF is working most of the day), so that's golden.

The favors did not go as planned. I wanted to do the pumpkin and apple butter favors that we all talked about a while ago, and one of the bride's sister's offered to take care of it with her mom. Well, they couldn't find any 4 oz jars they liked and didn't want to risk ordering them, so they changed it all around. Now they are making mini muffins and putting them in bags to tie up with ribbon. Whatever - I'm bummed out but I have to let it go. I can't control everything.

The present I am planning to get the brides is a "relaxation basket". I just found a great Groupon for a massage parlor near them and purchased two 1-hour massages for them. I will be buying two of the nice wine glasses on their registry, along with a bottle of wine. I was thinking of also including either a gift card to a store for my BFF for some retail therapy, or to a restaurant for them to have a date and make a day of their massages. That will mostl likely only happen if my sister, who is also attending the shower, decides to go in on it with me. I'll probably include a candle as well, since I'm candle crazy.

For the game prizes (there will be 4 I think) - I can't decide between a re-evaluation of the favor idea and making a larger jar of the "butters" as well as a recipe for bread or biscuits, maybe in a basket with a little candle? Or an inexpensive bottle of wine and wine charms. Any other ideas? Trying to keep it under $15 each.

Tell me I am fine and I will get everything done. Tell me there are other very competent women taking care of the other details and I don't need to worry that everything will get messed up. Tell me it doesn't matter that their registry has mostly zeros in the "fulfilled" column because that is none of my business. Tell me I am being ridiculous. Also, tell me your favorite shower game that you have played :) Thanks!

That sounds like a really fun time! You're doing a great job planning everything. It is going to go really smoothly and she'll have a great time!

As for the registry thing - people are procrastinators, so they will probably go shopping on Friday or Saturday for a Sunday shower. Trust me, she'll get stuff.

    You're going to be fine!

Everything sounds great!  It's going to turn out just fine!

When I threw my BFF a baby shower I went to Bath & Body Works for the prizes.  They were having a big sale and I got some good deals!  They do have fall scents out now so that might go with your theme if you don't have time to do the butters you want.

Whatever you decide, I know your friend will be greatful so don't stress yourself out anymore!

I'm doing pretty well :) thanks for asking. It sort of feels like it isn't actually happening - I've had a surreal feeling throughout the whole engagement and at my shower and b-party. Like. . . is this real life?<div>

I know this might sound like a dumb prize, but I went to a bridal shower and one of the prizes was a little pot with flowers in it. It was cute. Chrysanthemums are abundant now, and come in so many colors. Maybe you can go to a local farmer's market or local florist and get a lovely pot of mums in the wedding colors (if possible) as a prize.

As for games ... at one shower they did Bridal Shower Bingo. Guests fill in a Bingo board of gifts they thought the bride might receive (blender, towels, picture frames, etc) and marked them accordingly as the bride opened her gifts. Whomever filled a line as long as the bride was opening presents got a prize.

You'll be fine and get everything done in time.  And if you don't, who is going to know besides yourself?

I like your idea for a gift for the bride!  Very cute and I like that it's more of a couple gift - something they can do together.  I like the restaurant gift card idea, too.  You can check out restaurant.com for some great deals on gift certificates!

I like the apple/pumpkin butter idea thing as a prize, but the wine will be easier and less time consuming, I would think.

Have fun and don't stress too much!
