What makes a good emcee?

So ladies, I'm emceeing a good friend's wedding this weekend.  When they asked me they told me I was their first choice because I'm the "appropriate amount of inappropriateness" LOL

Anyways, I know what I like to see in an emcee.  Someone funny, relaxed...but really, what do you think makes a good emcee?  Got any good jokes for me? Any tips?

I say be yourself and it'll be an awesome night. 

IDK do you have any fun stories about them you can share?  At my cousin's wedding the DJ got wind of the fact that they had been dating for 8 years and made a joke about it before playing "At Last."

I think the most important part is getting everyone's names right! 

Just be relaxed and natural. Keep things moving. You'll be awesome!

Yup, Yup. :)

I was surprised when I was at Andrew's cousin's wedding and the emcee/DJ didn't really gain everyone's attention for the father of the groom dance or the cake cutting. Most everyone missed those two events. It was disappointing.
