Not Engaged Yet

FI's stoked about planning... Suggestions appreciated.

Okay so FI and I were looking at reception locations last night... we have one place that's nearby and affordable that we are definitely going to look at but are going to try and find a couple more before we set the date with the church and start lining up times to go check them out.  He's all excited about the cake and food tasting which doesn't surprise me but he's all about the colors and talking about his grandma doing the flowers as she has done them for all the grandchildren's weddings!

We were up until after midnight looking at stuff and talking and then when we were in bed he was rustling around and I asked if he was okay and said if you're hot turn the fan up babe.  He said no I just can't stop thinking about all this wedding stuff so I can't sleep and came and cuddled and told me all kinds of sweet things about how he can't wait to be my husband!   I am totally loving the fact that my fly by the seat BF has now become a wedding planning extraordinaire (sp?) FI! :)

We decided on the following colors...

Royal Blue and Apple Green.

Here is the only inspiration picture that really jumped out at me thus far.

I told FI I wanted fun shoes so I'm on the hunt for fun blue or green shoes that have a heel of about a 1-2 1/2" heel and are comfy and not too expensive.

So, if you're bored and feel like being a gem you could look for shoes (under $100 please) or anything decor wise or whatever that fits the colors.  Consider it an early b-day present to me (b-day is tomorrow).  TIA Ladies!

    I looooove your colors!

ETA: This link for shoes. It's a higher heel than what you wanted (but they're so cute) http://my1stwish.co.uk/products/5678-a-cobalt-17u-new-ladies-teal-bridal-diamante-sandals-size-3-7-uk.html

Paige, I know.  I was kind of thinking we would take a couple weeks to just relax but he's super excited (who am I kidding so am I) and I didnt want to burst his bubble!  We are ironing out the budget in the next couple week and thinking about lining up the date with the church and the reception venue and then just working on our lists and little things here and there for a couple months before diving back in.

We are looking at May of 2011 at this point, but until we meet with the priest nothing will be decided as we know for sure we want to get married at that church and will be working around the dates they have available.

GPBurger, I think I'd kill myslef in those shoes... I prefer a little more to a heel and a tad shorter... BUT I adore that purse for sure!  Thanks for the link!

With a date of May '11, I would SLOW down.

Take a step back and enjoy being engaged for a little bit.  There is no point in staying up until midnight doing anything for the wedding right now.

Ditto Mutley. Especially right now. The first week was so blissful. Make sure you enjoy being on your cloud nine before you jump into the details. It's all too sudden before you're swamped underneath the details anyways!

Thanks for the advice we weren't up till midnight talking about wedding stuff.  We we up most of that time just talking about our excitement of getting married and our religious beliefs in marriage.  The wedding stuff was just what I shared as I said we originally talked about waiting a couple weeks but we are both excited so we are looking at some things and discussing some stuff.  Also, his best friend is getting married this Saturday and he's a GM so it's going to be impossible for us to not discuss wedding stuff, it's all around right now.  We have had many discussions about getting the big stuff done and then relaxing and enjoying some down time.

ETA: Also, we usually don't get to bed until about 11:30 or 12 anyways, so this isn't super late to be up doing anything for us.  The last night we moved things from my apartment and cleaned it we were up till after 1am.

My bad, I've never been one to go to bed early so I didn't thinka bout it till I read your responses.  I was just overly surprised about how he is so excited about it all.

I think it is great that he is excited about planning. I would be so excited  I think it would be hard to not talk about the plans you both have for your future. Enjoy this time and have fun!!!

    Congratulations!

Thanks Bakes, you are right and we are definitely enjoying it!  We spent the weekend just relaxing and not thinking about it at all... because we agreed to celebrate being engaged only.  Now we are discussing things because we are excited about it all! :)

I figure that as long as we are both into it there is no harm in talking about stuff.  If one of us were trying to get the other uninterested party into it then that's a whole different story.

We figure that with around 300 people and a lot of venues that are affordable not being able to accommodate that large a crowd we need to get a reception venue nailed down asap, after that we will take the other stuff in stride.  Of course we have discussed a few other things like colors (mainly because the wedding he's in this weekend the colors are bright pink and orange and he thinks its hideous, and I can't really disagree).
