I got a letter yesterday from the Law Director at dream job, stating that they have suspended the search for the assistant law director position for now. If or when they resume the search, my application will still active. It was a simple form letter, signed by the Law Director. But, in the lower corner of the letter the Law Director hand wrote a note to me, saying that he was very sorry that the timing didn't work out, but that he hopes to met me soon, and signed it again.
I'm trying to be optimistic about this. Of course I'm bummed that I will not be working there as quickly as I want to, but I'm focusing on the fact that it's not b/c I'm unqualified, and I think the note is a good sign that my references are talking me up.
I was going to write the Law Director a note back, stating that I have a strong desire to work for this city, and stating that I would like to be considered for any positions that they may have open in the future. What do you ladies think?
