I never get to do one of these but I am so pumped for Halloween WHICH IS 11 DAYS AWAY!!!

1. What's your costume this year? Are you buying or making your costume? What's better/more fun?

Amelia Earhart. I'm making part of it from clothes that BF has, but my brother bought me the boots I need as an early Christmas present! : )

I always dress up! I love Halloween!

Hmm, I'm not sure. Most costumes are neat to me as long as they are creative.

Going to BF's mom's friend's party, lol. Then having a family party the next weekend. Hopefully getting to pass out candy again this year too.

We got a bag of butterfingers, baby ruths, nestle milk chocolate and crunch bars to hand out. I have no favorite other than anything chocolate.

I've only done it once, but I was Mrs. Potato Head and BF was a potato farmer, lol. Usually I think they're all cute.

I love it but I usually just do the boring happy face.

I love them! I haven't been to anything seriously scary, but hopefully will some day.

Hmm, I don't usually drink much other than water and milk ... but I love pumpkin muffins!

I'm not dressing up this year.

My mom is going to be in town that weekend so we're not doing any Halloween parties/events this year. My office doesn't really dress up either.

We had a guy dress up as a Sage Grouse a couple years ago. Doesn't make any sense if your not in oil & gas...but it you are it's hilarious.

Nada. I don't even get trick-or-treaters because I live in a condo. boo...

5. Favorite Halloween movie?
One that's not scary? I am really not into blood, guts and gore.

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year?
I love anything chocolate or sour. I can eat smarties or sour patch kids until my tongue can't handle them anymore.

7. What's your opinion on quirky "couple's costumes"? Have you ever done it? If so, what did you do?
We've never done a "couple's costume" before. I think they can either be dumb or really funny. We had a bill clinton and monika couple once and that was pretty good.

8. Tell me about pumpkin carving - have you done it? Do you like to? What are some designs you've done?
Every year. My birthday is the 27th, so it's been a long standing tradition to carve them on my b-day. We're pretty competitive in my house with pumpkins. I have pics on my facebook, but I can't get them at work.

9. Do you like haunted houses/mazes? Why or why not? Bonus points if you supply a link to your favorite attraction!
I'm down with anything fall or farm related - but i'm not into being scared. I avoid haunted houses at all costs. Mazes are a blast as long as there aren't people jumping out at me and such. Scary is just scary...not "fun".

Hot Cider, hands down! I make mine at home and it's delish!!

I got nothing. I think making is more fun. Gathering all the exact right pieces from thrift stores and your own closet--or friend's closet. Though any time I've tried to actually sew a costume has been an epic fail.

Haha I might dress up again this year for work... hmmm I guess I need a costume for that!

3. Best costume you've ever seen. Ever. (Doesn't have to be yours!)
Oh gosh. I'm always envious of those who pick really obvious and like current costume ideas. Like coal miners last year or the Octa-mom a few years ago. I can't think of specific good ones, but I usually pick simple costumes for myself. i.e. witch, or Tinkerbell.

4. What are your plans for Halloween overall? Party, movie night, going out?
Nada--yet.

5. Favorite Halloween movie?
The Exorcist REALLY freaked me out when they re-released it in the theaters back in 2001? It was the first time I saw it and now I drive by those stairs in DC every day! ahhhh

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year?
Oh gosh. Fun size candy bars are a must, nice assortment. But I love so much candy. Nerds, candy corn, those caramel cover lollipops, blow pops! The list goes on...We'll probably buy an assortment pack like last year. The Wonka Mix-ups was a nice one to have since we had NO trick or treaters! mmm candy

7. What's your opinion on quirky "couple's costumes"? Have you ever done it? If so, what did you do?
I've never done any 'quirky' couples' costumes, but we were like mobster-esque gangsters one year. That was fun. I love when people do pair/group costumes. They get to take it so far. hehe I wanna go to a costume party so bad right now!

8. Tell me about pumpkin carving - have you done it? Do you like to? What are some designs you've done?
I used to like it. Its more meh now. Maybe when I have kids that want to carve a pumpkin I'll dig it again.

Not so much. I went to one halloween event at Kings Dominion a few years back, and I'm good to go for awhile. I guess there are some elaborate maze ones out there. I'd go if others wanted to, but I won't be the one making those plans.

2. If you're not dressing up, why? (do you hate fun or something?) I apparently hate fun. And I don't really have anywhere to go except work...sad

3. Best costume you've ever seen. Ever. (Doesn't have to be yours!) Some guys in HS were Gumby and Pokey. They basically couldn't sit down all day, haha

4. What are your plans for Halloween overall? Party, movie night, going out? Movie night, maybe! We don't have plans yet, but BF's parents are coming up that weekend

5. Favorite Halloween movie? Addams Family Values, Sixth Sense (are those Halloween movies?)

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year? Kit Kat or Twix. I think we'll do a mixture of candy, I want Snickers but ya know, peanut allergies and whatnot - I don't want crazy parents attacking me

I'm not dressing up this year... we are just going to stay home and answer the door for trick or treaters.

we're not going out, and DH isn't into dressing up. we're dressing up our dog though! she's going to be a hot dog!

one year, a family came by to trick or treat. they had a little boy about 3 or 4 dressed as Pooh, and then a baby dressed as a honey pot!! it was the cutest thing EVER.

we're staying in! I'll probably cook and bake fall-ish stuff and we're just going to see all the trick or treaters.

uh, I don't do scary movies. I'm lame.

reeses! we're giving out variety candy... the bags with like 5 different kinds.

I think it's cute.... never done it, but I always like to see everyone else's.

we carve pumpkins every year. we'll do our pumpkins this weekend. last year, it was right before he proposed. we carved a regular jack-o-lantern for me and a batman pumpkin for him. this year, we're going to carve a pumpkin for him (not sure what he's doing this year), a jack-o-lantern for me, and then a smaller pumpkin with a bone or a paw print for our little dog. so cute!

I like mazes... not so much the haunted houses. I'm such a scaredy-cat.

1. What's your costume this year? Are you buying or making your costume? What's better/more fun?
FI and his BFF and I are doing a group steampunk costume. We all made our costumes. We spent lots of time at garage sales, rummage sales, Salvation Army's and thrift stores looking for props and acessories and clocks to take apart to use their gears. His BFF is amazing with a glue gun so she's been helping us put together our weapons and stuff.

A friend of ours went as a "noble gas". He wore a cape and a crown, and wore a t-shirt with the elemental sign for neon. I thought it was hilarious and clever. BUT ... another friend did a really elaborate Ursula the Sea Witch costume, complete with octopus legs and everything. She even painted her face purple. It was amazing!

4. What are your plans for Halloween overall? Party, movie night, going out?
I have two parties to go to on the 29th, and on the 31st I will probably stay at home and give out candy.

5. Favorite Halloween movie?
"Hocus Pocus” or “Nightmare Before Christmas” If I want something a little gorier, then I go for “Repo: The Genetic Opera”

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year?
Reese's! I don't usually like them but they taste better on Halloween. Last year I gave out Mounds cus they're my favorite, so I'll probably get more of those.

7. What's your opinion on quirky "couple's costumes"? Have you ever done it? If so, what did you do?
I don't like "salt and pepper" or "bacon and eggs"...I appreciate when couples get creative. A few years ago, a lot of couples were dressing like Juno and Paulie from "Juno". One year, I will convince FI to go as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett.

8. Tell me about pumpkin carving - have you done it? Do you like to? What are some designs you've done?
I can't remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. FI tried to get me to go pumpkin picking with him just so he could get a pumpkin, open it, take out the seeds and roast them O.o A friend of mine is a pumpkin carving master. She got templates to make her pumpkins look like Doctor Who.

Hell to the no. I don't like it when things jump out at me. I wouldn't mind it if the actors didn't like, TRY to make you pee your pants. I prefer "Haunted Mansion" at Disneyworld =\

We normally put a little more thought into our costumes, but seeing as how Halloween is the weekend before our wedding, I don't have the time.

Hmm...my mom and dad went as Buzz & Woody from Toy Story last year. My mom made their costumes and they looked awesome.

FI's friend has a Halloween party every year, so we go to that.

5. Favorite Halloween movie?
I liked the first Paranormal Activity. The ending was dumb, but overall it was pretty good.

We aren't giving out candy. Lame, I know, but again, Halloween day is the week of the wedding, and I'll probably be working late to get everything ready for when I leave.

FI and I have always dressed as a couple, not really sure why, but it's fun.

ETA: the first year, we were the Phantom of the Opera and Christine, and last year we were Dexter and a victim.

I did it every year as a kid, but we don't do it too much anymore. We did it two years ago and it was kind of a pain when you don't have kids that enjoy it.

I had like 5 planned, but things changed and now I am being little red riding hood and BF is being the wolf. I made the apron for my costume
and bought/ found other random items to put together our costumes. I will definitely post pictures after!

We were Fred (I made his ascot) and Velma this past weekend for a Halloween theme trivia night I ran. All the volunteers were Scooby Doo characters or memorable villains.

I think it is was more fun to make your own costume. Bonus: my @$$ doesn't hang out of it either!

Saturday before there is a huge party in an area of St. Louis called The Central West End and we will be there with our party pants (well skirts bf is wearing an old ladies nighty lol) on! On Halloween we will be hanging out at my parents' passing out candy and watching scary movies

Hmmm... I'm not a fan of scary so I am going with Hocus Pocus.

I was just talking to BF about this... I like the sour fruity candies and he likes the chocolate. I will not turn down a Snickers or Reeses though

I love them and I've almost always done them when I am in a relationship with someone.

I love pumpkin carving. I have to pick out my own pumpkin so that it is just right. I tend to carve pretty elaborate pumpkins. One year I did a vampire biting a woman's neck. It was pretty awesome!

Despite hating scary movies etc, I love haunted houses. I don't have a favorite though. This year I am hoping to go to the Lemp Brewery Tour. <- Clicky!

3. Best costume you've ever seen. Ever. (Doesn't have to be yours!) This girl at a Halloween party was a purple loofah. It was awesome. At first you think, wth is she? Then realize she is a loofah.

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year? I always was looking for mini candy bars. Snickers, YUM YUM. This year we got little bug gummies and skittles.

I thought about some different sized stars and then just some small holes for the light to shine through so it looks just like a starry sky. And then maybe a jack-o-lantern and whatever BF does.

1. What's your costume this year? Are you buying or making your costume? What's better/more fun?
My costume usually revolves around FI's company's annual Halloween bash. This year the theme is the "Bootlegger's Ball," so basically country/white trash. I have exactly a week to figure out my costume...

Also, my brother and SIL are throwing a Halloween party in a couple weeks, and their theme is superheroes & villains. If we go, I will most definitely dress up as She-Ra.

2. If you're not dressing up, why? (do you hate fun or something?)
I typically only enjoy dressing up when I have a really good idea for a costume. But I'm not that creative, and I don't really love dressing up for Halloween just to dress up.

3. Best costume you've ever seen. Ever. (Doesn't have to be yours!)
One year, my friend dressed up as boxed wine. She cut holes in a gigantic box for her head and arms, and used a large-scale printer to print out the franzia box labels. she even attached the bladder from a box of wine to the inside with the spout sticking out, so that people could go up to her and refill their glasses. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

4. What are your plans for Halloween overall? Party, movie night, going out?
FI's work party on the Thursday before. I was supposed to have class on Halloween night, but my prof cancelled (yay!). Fi and I will probably hang around the house and give candy to trick-or-treaters.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year?
Probably kit kats and nerds. I have no idea what we'll give out this year. I'll most likely buy those bags that have a variety of candy bars.

I love coordinating costumes! FI and I have gone as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and as a kickball and ghost runner (he fashioned a hood with eye holes, but it's not up in the pic below).

I always loved it as a kid, but we were boring and didn't do creative designs. I've only carved an entire pumpkin by myself once, and honestly, I'm not sure it was worth the effort. Though I did feel very accomplished.

1. What's your costume this year? Are you buying or making your costume? What's better/more fun? Halloween is on a Monday that I work, so I'm dressing as a 1960s nurse with a white dress, white tights, white shoes and the nurses cap I wore for graduation. I already bought everything for it and it's hanging in my closet. Tyler is going as Steampunk Lincoln. I wish I had time to make my costumes as I always loved sewing epic costumes, but I just don't have time anymore.

3. Best costume you've ever seen. Ever. (Doesn't have to be yours!) Man, I went to a lot of anime cons when I was younger and there were some pretty awesome things there. I can't remember any specific ones, but Yaya Han and Kell both make awesome things.

4. What are your plans for Halloween overall? Party, movie night, going out? We'll probably be home like last year and hand out candy to the very few children who come by the house.

I've seen some good ones (one married couple we know is going to be The Monarch and Dr Mrs The Monarch which is totally awesome; another couple is going as the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler [the chick as the Tenth Doctor and the dude as Rose Tyler, haha]), but we've never done it and I don't think we ever will because it's just not our style.

8. Tell me about pumpkin carving - have you done it? Do you like to? What are some designs you've done? I used to every year and I was totally badass at it. I don't do it anymore though.

When I was a kid, we went to a haunted house at Opryland and at one point, one of the employees jumped out and scared the sweet bejeezus out of me. I was holding my mom's hand and without thinking, I bit her HARD on the hand and she popped me equally hard. I haven't gone to one since and I never want to again.

10. Random less Halloween-ish, to make it an even number: What's your favorite "fall" beverage? (i.e.: Cider at Dunkin Donuts? Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks?) Apple cider with Fireball cinnamon whiskey thrown in for good measure.

JEM! I'm going to be truly outrageous. I am making it and it is nearly done. I think making a costume leads to something more original.

Oh man, I saw someone dressed as Sriracha sauce once. That was pretty awesome.

We have two parties the Saturday before Halloween. One we go to every year, but another friend is also having one, so we'll just split the time. On Halloween itself, I'm not sure, since it's a Monday. Maybe just watch a movie. Also, I want to go to the corn maze. Maybe this weekend.

5. Favorite Halloween movie?
I don't really have one. However, I was excited to see "Witchboard" on demand. We used to watch it at my friend's sleep over and get a ouija board. I'm sure it's a terrible movie--I last saw it when I was 13.

6. What was your favorite candy to receive while trick-or-treating? What candy are you giving out this year?
Chocolate bars like Snickers or Almond Joy. However, for a lot of years as a kid, I wasn't allowed to keep my candy. We don't hand out candy. I don't think anyone would come to our door. My mom does, though, and she gets the good stuff.

7. What's your opinion on quirky "couple's costumes"? Have you ever done it? If so, what did you do?
We have never done it. I think it can be cute. We talked about being Booth and Bones, but I really wanted to be Jem this year. Maybe next year.

I almost always carve a pumpkin. Usually it's some sort of cat design. Last year was Snoopy and Woodstock. I've won the pumpkin carving contest at the party we go to two years in a row. I think it's my psychadelic LED light inside that does it.

There's a big one here called Pirates of Emerson, but I've heard they really harass the guests, so I haven't gone.

I'm going as Bride of Frankenstein meets Betty Draper. Meaning I have a 50's inspired black dress that I'll wear with an apron(clicky) and gloves(clicky) I purchased from cupcake provacateur. Makeup & White Streak in my hair included.

This!!(Clicky). The girl I saw had her own green vintage suit and got giant crows from michals or something. She pinned them all over. Pics after the party were very convincing.

I have a party to go to this weekend at my friends lake house! Hopefully everyone else will be in costume too. I took Halloween off to go to Salem.

Resee's Cups are the absolute best to get!!! I don't give out candy since there are no kids in my apartment building

I'm a pumpkin carving master! I love it. Typlically I'll pick up books with the intricate designs from the store and I ended up carving the pumpkins all my siblings picked out....they got bored easily. My favorite is the classic scaredy cat in front of the moon. Simple and easy. I grew my own pumpkins 3 years ago....I want a yard again.

Love them!!!! If you can't tell by now this is my favorite holiday. I love them because they are awesome.

I like the Hitchcock, I'm not into gorey movies but I do like arftul creepiness for Halloween. Psycho is probably my favorite. I also like The Innocents.

I was a kid who actually didn't really like candy. I would just end up throwing out most of it. I do really like Twizzlers though and I'm more of a fan of candy now that I'm older, but in small doses. I'll probably hand out an assortment like most people. (Leaving it out in a bowl for the kiddies before I go out).

Hehe, whatever floats your boat. I won't begrudge someone for getting into the spirit however they want to do so. My ex and I did match last year. We were a gothic Victorian couple. He had a top hat, a vest with skulls on it and a pocket watch. I had a black lace dress, pointy boots and black opera length gloves.
