Not Engaged Yet

Where's my entertainment?

I'm in history class and we're talking about the Cold War. Hence I'm on the Knot.

Where my BSCs at? I need some fun!

Okay, how about-- if you could have anything at all for your wedding (or wedding-related.... you know, proposal, Bachelorette Party, etc), ANYTHING regardless of etiquette or money or whatever.... what would you want?

I'm gonna think about this for a bit while taking notes on postwar liberalism. I expect some replies by the end of class!

I would have my wedding on a HUGE fat sailboat pirate ship. I'm talking like Johnny Depp pirates of the Caribbean ship.

Add a sweet live band and a perfect starry night - what more fun can you ask for? Dancing AND sailing the high seas?!??

but I wouldn't make my BMs dress like bar wenches. That would be BSC.... or awesome?

Oooooooooooh, I love this thread Smile Ok, if I could do anything I wanted, regardless of money, logic, and ettiquette, it would be:

    • Fajita and mojito bar at the reception. I love fajitas. And mojitos. Mmmmmmm.
    • I'd have the actual artist of our first dance play our first dance live. That would be pretty schweet.
    • A very simple, sweet proposal. Doesn't have to be over-the-top or a big show, just simple and sweet and romantic. Maybe candles on the beach, or something really simple at home. I'd love it if he set up for us to meet up with friends afterwards to celebrate.

And bending all known science and logic...

    • My grandmother and my BF's baby brother would be there (both have passed away). I think that will probably be the one difficult part of the day, not having them there to see it and be a part of it.

I would have Lionel Richie sing at my reception

I would have my ceremony in a hot air balloon that could fit more than 10 people.

I would find the perfect dress for less than $500

My feet wouldn't hurt at ALL from my cute heels

If no one carried bouquets, no one would ask why or care

I would get letterpress invitations. Yummmmm

I would have a breakfast reception in the AM and dancing at night and it wouldn't be poor etiquette to leave 8 hours in between.

this is fun.... i will have to keep thinking!

There's a little bit of BSC below, not full blown but it has potential.

If today goes the way it's been I may be providing you with some quality BSC as I am  currently cranky, hormonal and over all miserable and just for shits & giggles because there apparently is no God I have already been asked 5 times (seriously, it's 11 am) differing variation of when is it my turn. *vomit* You'd be proud though, my answer to that exact question was, I didn't realize I was supposed to take a number.  Needless today if this keeps up it may wear me down to the point of BSC. lol

If i had to put rules on my proposal I'd just want it to be quite, like yours was, I hate fanfare and attention, I want to get engaged and snuggle on the couch with take out and not tell anyone for a few days.

I'd love to have my bachelorette be some crazy adventures that my friends cook up with surprises at every turn and I'd very much not like to remember most of it the next day. I also want it to be on the same night of the bachlor party because I've seen my friends sitting home while the men are out and it's never pretty. I'm not usually a psycho but I've seen some pretty level headed girls go bonkers under those conditions. lol

As far as my wedding goes I really want a photo booth i don't care how cheesy and expensive it is, I've always been obsessed with photo booths and i think it would add a really unique touch to the day. I also wish I could load up on insane amounts of crazy personalized favors, yeah they may be a waste of money and something that no one ever uses but they're dorky and fun, which is kind of how I am so I actually doubt anyone would be surprised. lol

I love the idea of themed bachelorette parties that do not involve strippers. No strippers, no thank you, ma'am. The best one I saw was a few months ago, a big gaggle of girls went bar crawling through Riverfront (the main bar/club district in Fort Lauderdale) dressed as 80s girls on their way to prom. Full on 80s prom dresses and hair. I actually stopped and thought (out loud) "I WANNA DO THAT!" lol

Over the top, but this proposal is absolutely incredible...I would absolutely lose my mind if my BF did something like this...

    I'm really boring.

But maybe it would be nice if there was enough time and money to get my whole family to travel with me to BF's hometown so we could get married there.  It's really beautiful.

OMG cutest proposal ever. THat's crazy!!

In Grey's Anatomy, Meredith set up candles in the shape of the literal blueprint of the house they were going to build on the plot of land they owned. They got engaged "in their house".

Totally unrealistic, but it sounds pretty good to me!

Okay, let's see... I would fly in all my cousins & old friends from growing up, so I could have a bachelorette party with them. We could all put on our prom dresses (the 80s theme gave me the idea, even though it was 2001 for me), wear awesome crazy wigs (beehive anyone?), get tipsy and go to the mall. YES, THE MALL.

We'd run around like BSC high schoolers. Then we'd go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant with a good bar and a cute waiter.

    Yeah, that sounds fun!

I would also not invite my FMIL to the wedding.
