Kayak website pulls ads from All American Muslim

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/12/all-american-muslim-kayak-calls-show-terrible-but-apologizes-to-customers.html

CN: Kayak.com jumps on the FFA bandwagon and pulls future advertising from the show All-American Muslim.

This part was disturbing to me...
(copied+pasted from the article)
"The first thing I discovered was that TLC was not upfront with us about the nature of this show. As I said, it's a worthy topic, but any reasonable person would know that this topic is a particular lightning rod," he said. "We believe TLC went out of their way to pick a fight on this, and they didn't let us know their intentions. That's not a business practice that generally gets repeat business from us... Sadly, TLC is now enjoying the attention from this controversy."

How wasn't TLC upfront about the show? How did TLC pick a fight on this?

And the hypocrisy of TLC enjoying the attention is disgusting. I had never heard of the FFA before last week. And Kayak is putting themselves front and center.

I think my favorite part of the article is when an executive said, "mostly, I just thought the show sucked." So, are they going to be pulling all their ads from every show that sucks?
Plusandalso, I love how an executive couldn't think of a more eloquent word than "sucked." Seriously? Worst review of a show ever.

Not upfront about the nature of the show? It's about Muslims living normal lives in America just like you & me.

This is making me so angry now.  These people are unbelievable.

Also, I'm getting sick of the 'lightning rod' comment. It's old. Get some new material you assmonkeys.

All I keep thinking about is that 60 years ago, this same thing would have been happening if the show was about Jewish families. 40 years ago if the show was about African American families. 20 years ago if the show was about homosexuals. I can't believe there are still intolerent people out there.

Same. I'm glad a lot of consumers are boycotting these stores, I sure will be.

I wonder if the FFA would have been against The Cosby Show.

I agree, this whole "lighting rod" excuse is really low. We're aware any show with the word "Muslim" in it is going to be controversial. The resepctable thing would have been to rise above it. But these companies aren't. They're caving to radical groups, instead.

Did anyone see the Daily Show's coverage of this last night (regarding Lowe's)? It's probably available online.

I <3 Jon Stewart. Only him and his writers know exactly what to say in these situations.
