Music Gives Me A Boner

Or something like that.

I'm in love with the Jar of Hearts song by Christina Perri.  And I watched the video just now.  Anyone who dances I think will love it (Marley, I thought of you).  It's quite well done: CLICK HERE

What music are you obsessed with right now?

ETA: Sorry for being a serious PW lately.  I've been procrastinating hardcore.

The new Adele CD is uh-maze-ing!!! The whole thing! And I have kind of fallen in love with Jaime Cullum. He's a British jazz artist that's had a few hits here. Fun fact, he's married to Roald Dahl's (Author of James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, the Witches, etc) granddaughter. I love him. His song, Love Ain't Gonna Let You Down, is serious first dance material.

Yeah, I love that song and the dancing in the video is cool. I think she included that b/c her song was on SYTYCD and then sold like hotcakes on iTunes or something before she even had an album.

I'm loving me some Brandi Carlile and Ray LaMontagne right now. Something about their voices is just....ahhhh, so good!

And yeah, the thread title made me LOL.

DanieKA, I am a fellow Jamie Cullum fan. In highschool I had hoped he'd stop being famous and fade out of the public eye, and then many years later I'd ask him to sing at my wedding and he'd be able to. I love his voice and the style of music. He's a cutie too.

Other than that, I really like Hall and Oates, The Libertines, and Men at Work.

I love that Jar of Hearts song! Her voice is incredible! Normally I hate sad songs, but I can't help but listen to it when it comes on the radio.

They Might Be Giants is coming out with a new disc in July, so I've been listening to all of my old favorites to get ready for the new hotness.

I've also been obsessed with a band called The City Drive so I've been memorizing every lyric and every chord progression they've ever done.

I too, laughed at your thread title Peek.  And I agree when the right song comes on at the right time I get all hot and bothered!

Christina Perri is much more rock-looking than I expected from the song. Every time I hear the chorus melody, it reminds me of Rihanna's "Umbrella."

Danie, thanks for reminding me to download the Adele album on this computer (I bought it while on my work one).

<div>I have also wondered what his wedding rate would be! Haha! I'm thinking I'd need some serious extra cash for that. </div><div>
</div><div>And I'm so glad Desert mentioned Ray LaMontagne. I love him! </div><div>
</div><div>I'm also into that song Money Grabber by Fitz and the Tantrums. Anyone heard that? I love it's old school vibe. And anything by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. Apparently, if you are an artist with a band and add "and the..."whatevers to your name I'm gonna dig your music. </div>

Ugh, no offense but I can't stand that "Jar of Hearts" song. One of my best friends is obsessed with her and I heard it nonstop months before it hit radio airwaves.

Otherwise, the new Panic at the Disco CD came out a few weeks ago, and I'm in love with it. Fans have been waiting for about 3 years for this CD and it was worth it. Here's the first single, "The Ballad of Mona Lisa": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOgpdp3lP8M

Also, I've discovered a new band I'm totally obsessed with. They're called Walk the Moon. I first heard of them in Februraty. I saw them open for Panic at the Disco. I made friends with their lead guitarist. They are totally awesome - and they started out as an acapella group, so they have some bitchin' vocals! We wanted to buy their CD after the show but we didn't have enough cash. So FI traded a $15 Dunkin Donuts gift card (which he just happened to have in his wallet) for the CD, which they autographed.

This is their single "Anna Sun". We want it played at our wedding and quite possibly do the silly dance that starts at 1:45 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW7f54tVRmQ

I so wish Jar of Hearts had been in my life when I found out my ex was cheating.  I needed a lot of help remembering it wasn't my fault, and that song would've been fantastic.

Peek, thanks for thinking of me! Yeah, the dancing in that video is really nice. Yay! It's nice to see a mainstream video use good dancing that's not booty-shakin', super-scantily-clad stuff. (Not that I mind that kind of dancing as a rule, just that it gets to be very ubiquitous/gratuitous.) I also really like the costuming and visual effects. (TBH, I'm lukewarm on the song itself, although her voice is good.)

ETA: Alanna, ::highfive:: on Hall & Oates. :)

Sparrow, I <3 They Might Be Giants for their sheer nerdiness at times.  It makes me smile.

I've been hooked on Maria Mena, Kate Nash (Foundations and Fvck You are two of my momentary favorites, although they change weekly), Ingrid Michaelson, and A Fine Frenzy lately.  My Pandora station is constantly tuned to them.  It makes me sad that Pandora doesn't know Maria Mena's Just Hold Me song.  That song gives me the chills every time, I think it's the passion in her voice.
