I found my dress! (PIP)... also showing the rejects.

First I'll show the other dresses that I tried on, in case you're interested in seeing them.


A

I started out with some dresses with tulle skirts. I really liked how they looked on the hanger, but soon realized they were not my style, lol. I felt swallowed up in this one and wasn't a huge fan of the flowers.


B

I also felt pretty swallowed up in this one and it didn't have the flowers, and I did like the design under the bust, but it wasn't really my favorite either.


C

This one had fewer flowers and a silk belt thing and I liked it on the hanger, but I didn't really like the shape of it.


D

This one had the black belt, which I wasn't too fond of, so I took it off to see, but I wasn't sure how I felt about the neckline having two different styles and the skirt seemed to have more life on the hanger somehow.



E

For this one, we decided to try a different fabric and I started to like it better. I also liked the belt under the bust. It was my favorite of the ones I had tried on to that point, but still wasn't getting the feeling it was MY dress.

My mom really loved this one because of the flowers under the bust and down the side. It was a little small, so it didn't fit right, but I liked the two layers better on the hanger (again) than I did on me. I also didn't like the seam straight across my belly.

I found out with this dress that I can't wear a shoulder strap. It was itchy and felt weird, lol. This dress also didn't fit me, so it was shaped weird. I thought it was pretty, but still missing something.

I started getting pretty discouraged, but then started to find some dresses that I liked more.

This one was pretty on the bottom, but I wasn't a fan of the top. I also decided that I like the silkier look after trying on dresses like this one.

This one I thought was really pretty and silky like I liked, and I really did like most things about the dress, but still didn't feel like it was me.

This one was my second favorite of all of the dresses. I felt pretty in it and it was so fluid and easy to walk in. The fabric was so smooth and soft, but I wanted something a bit more dressed up. This one is gorgeous, but still reminded me of a very pretty nightgown.


L (last of the rejections)

This dress was interesting for sure. I felt kinda like a peacock in it though with the feathery shoulder strap that kept getting in my mouth, and I felt kinda like it was a few different dresses all thrown into one. I loved the back of it, but it felt off looking at it from the front on me.

And then I found the one that I LOVE! It has the asymetric waist, a difference between the bust and the waist, it has a fuller skirt and the detail in the skirt is awesome too. It doesn't look nearly as pretty in the pictures as I felt in it, lol. I also think my brother's girlfriend took the pictures of me in this dress, so I wish I could have gotten it fluffed out better and I wish I had done my hair and make-up too, lol.

The owner's daughter laced me up. The back isn't quite how it's supposed to be, but I just wanted it on well enough, and quickly because I was getting tired at that point, lol.




The only difference is that we're going to have her alter the neckline to put in a sweetheart, so it will look more like this: (forgive my poor photoshop abilities, lol)



I really love it. I think I'm going to feel great in it. I think it has a perfect blend of feeling pretty, but still simple. It's probably nothing like I thought I would like in the beginning, but my idea of what I liked changed so much when I saw the dresses on me.

Sorry, I felt that first post was getting too long, so I just put all of the rejects into that and then put in my dress in my second post, so you probably posted just after I posted my dress, lol. It should be there now.

Yay for picking your dress!! You really went through a lot of them!  It's like you had your very own Say Yes to the Dress episode going on for us in the photos.  Also, I really like the addition of the sweetheart neckline on the actual dress that you picked - seems to really flatter.

I haven't ever seen Say Yes to the Dress, so I'm not sure what that's like, but I always love looking at everyones' dresses when they post them, so I thought I'd do the same, lol.

I'm very happy with the dress I've found and I think that the sweetheart neckline will make it perfect! Thanks for all of the suggestions to help me figure out what I wanted! : )

Thanks again, everyone! : ) One more check on the to-do list. I was looking at the check list last night and we've got a good start already, but there's still pages upon pages of stuff left to do, lol. That's a good thing since we've still got almost a year left, but it still looks like an insane amount to do. I think the majority of the spending is done though.

I didn't even think I'd want a strapless dress whenever I thought about a wedding dress growing up, but I really wasn't into straps once I tried a few on. And I was definitely not getting one without the sweetheart neckline, lol. I just wish it had pockets!
