Suggestions?

Bridesmaid dresses have finally been decided on.

Now I have to decide what color to do the vest/tie for the groomsmen's tuxes. The tuxes will be black, the shirts will be in ivory, the groom will be in a black tux with ivory shirt, vest and tie. So, for the groomsmen I really want a sage green:

but I have a few people say that I should do a purple to match the bridesmaid dresses:

Thoughts, suggestions?? Thanks!

love the one-shoulder on the BM dress!
i'd vote for the sage green. IMO, complementing instead of matching is so savvy. might also want to consider how/where else you're using the colors, though.

I'm going to probably be using each color equally. The ceremony will have more purple in it. The table runners and sashes over the chair covers will be in sage, which means the other centerpiece items will be in purple. I do not have the centerpieces quite figured out yet. I am trying to do a good mix of each color.

Those dresses are fantastic!! I love them!

I would do sage as well - it won't be too matchy-matchy.  Your wedding party is going to look very sharp!

Love the dresses! I would go with sage too. I tend to think that matching dress and vest is too prom for me. Complimenting colors are more my style!

I love the sage! Beautiful dresses! I hope your chicks are all tall though. :) I think I would look like a dwarf in that dress. Possibly a very chubby dwarf. HA!

Thanks! I really like the dresses too. They are a bit different from a lot of the other BM dresses. It was also a bonus that the top is cut a little higher as I have two large chested bridesmaids.

I'm liking that you guys like the green. Granted I live in Vikings territory, but I just have something about putting guys in what I deem as "girly" colors.

3 of the 4 bridesmaids are 5'6" or taller, I just have 1 that is closer to 5'. They don't contain any poof and are cut pretty straight. I think/hope the shorter bridesmaid will be ok. She just happens to be the one living out of state, that I haven't seen in the dress.

Give the shorty some good heels and keep it movin'! :) I say this from the bottom of my short little heart.

Oh she will be wearing tall heels guaranteed, as that is what she lives in. I don't know if I've ever seen her not wearing heels.

    Sage is perfect.

Midnite, is that ALL eyeliner? Deeeeeeemmmm, that's a lot of eyeliner. I have two, both brown. I feel so unexciting.

I vote sage as well. Then if the girls are carrying bouquets, they can be primarily sage with hints of purple to make it all blend, IMHO.

The bridesmaid bouquets will actually be white calla lillies.

    Sage it is!

We are however, using sage/light green hydrangeas with purple accent flowers as part of the ceremony decor.
